5.0 out of 5 stars bowled over by this book, 13 Feb. 2008
This review is from: Engleby (Paperback)
This is an incredible book that I was unable to leave. Rather worryingly - or perhaps not? - I felt a connection with Engleby from the start and agree with him wholeheartedly on most things. A brilliant appraisal of existence. The description of the dinner party alone puts this book in my top ten ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good enough to make me want to review it!, 16 Mar. 2006
This review is from: Eve Green (Paperback)
Hard to believe this is a first novel, by such a young writer. Susan Fletcher should be as famous as Zadie Smith, I really don't know why she isn't. This novel is beautifully written, utterly believable, and very touching. Fletcher has mastered the art of small, perfect nuggets of chapters that keep you reading ('I'll just read one more...') and the story flows along superbly.

4.0 out of 5 stars The ones that got away, 19 May 2003
'Studio B' comprises Nashville outtakes from 1961-1964, and while some of the songs on this album do feel a bit dated, the quality of the performances is stagggering. Elvis' voice is faultless throughout this CD, with 'Little Sister', 'Easy Question' and especially 'You'll be Gone' being the highlights. His outtakes put most performer's top hits in the shade. Sit back, close your eyes and listen to that voice.
