5.0 out of 5 stars Give it time..., 25 Sep 2012
This review is from: Mirage Rock (Audio CD)
The first three BoH albums were essential, there's not much disputing that. Album number four however seems to have received mixed reactions to say the least. At first listen it seemed light, confused and straining for something that it didn't quite reach. However...I've persevered with the album for four or five listens now and after a while the majority of the songs have begun to take a hold. There are still one or two to skip: "Feud" and "A Little Biblical" could easily be replaced by any of the 5 songs on the deluxe bonus disc. The others though now sit alongside many of BoH's best songs. Personal favourites are "Slow Cruel Hands...", "Shut-In Tourist", "Dumpster World" and "Long Vows". The advice is to revisit the album a few times- you will gradually be rewarded.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff!, 1 Jun 2004
For a long time Modest Mouse have been making records of uniquely brilliant alternative rock with little recognition in the US and none in the UK. With any look "Good News..." should change all that. Fans of anyone from the Pixies to Radiohead via the Flaming Lips should definately go out and buy this cd. You won't regret it and you'll soon become an MM addict! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars gorky's just keep gettin' better!, 19 Aug 2003
This review is from: Sleep / Holiday (Audio CD)
This new album from much under-rated Gorky's is quite possibly their best since major label debut "Barafundle". The album is the perfect soundtrack to a hazy summer's day and can't help but make you feel all warm and cozy inside! Quite simply, anyone with an ear for good music should own this. Its unmissable- if only the general public knew what they were missing!!
