They seem durable and well made, and bottles fit snugly into them. No complaints.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent fast charger, 2 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The charger was nicely packaged in cardboard, with some reasonably clear instructions. It's well built, and whilst the cable is short it's reassuringly solid.
But most importantly, it works. Last night I forgot to charge my phone, and woke up to a phone that was at 10% battery charge and dropping rapidly due to the vibrating alarm. So I plugged it in to this charger, and 45 minutes later when I was ready to leave for work my phone was at 67% charge.
Which is exactly what should happen, and beats every other charger I own.
The only thing I can find to complain about is the length of the cable, and that's hardly unique to this product so I'm content to let that slide.
If you need a fast charger, this is a superb choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Darker, faster, even higher stakes., 3 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This story starts slowly then builds up a head of steam that takes it to breakneck speeds. It's dark, the plot twists and turns, old characters return and characters are killed off.

I'm still reeling a little from the ending. I devoured the book in a few hours, and in the process subjected myself to a rollercoaster of misdirection and surprises that was a compellin read.

And through it all is that sense of dark sardonic humour, and a twisting of technology into magic that we've come to know and need from a Laundry story. The universe is fairly complete now, but there are still decent developments here. (However, this is not a book I'd recommend anyone start their Laundry experience with, if only due to alluded spoilers for previous stories.)

Highly recommended for Laundry Files fans.

This is an excellent primer for the non-technical, and a good reference for the technical on how to get the ideas across.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job nicely., 27 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It fits nicely, is secure, keeps the phone dry, there are no issues with the earphone access etc.

It does make hitting the back button a bit hard, as that's quite close to the reflective edge at the bottom. Not a huge problem, but I'll refrain from giving five stars because of it.

That doesn't mean I'm looking for a replacement though - it's given excellent service so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent silicone skin, 27 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The tread design makes it slightly chunky at the back, but has already proven its worth by keeping the phone drier when an accidental spill reached the phone.

It's pleasantly finished, feeling good in the hand. No problems putting the USB connector or headphones in when using it. And with a black Galaxy S3, it looks superb.

Highly recommended.

Beggars and Blues [Explicit]
Beggars and Blues [Explicit]
Price: £7.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, 15 Oct. 2012
Combine excellent songwriting with a mastery of harmonies, and you have this album.

My favourites are Sound Advice, Summertime, Did I Tell You?, and Dancin', I Don't Want You Anymore, Fade to Grey, Strange Familiarity...
OK. I'll stop listing favourites, as it's turning into the whole album!

Casee's voice is lovely, and her lyrics are finely honed to speak directly to the heart. (Unless, of course, Casee's just having fun down on Tim Burton's Farm...)

Beggars & Blues is a remarkable first album, and if it were on vinyl I'd probably have played my copy to death now.
Thankfully, you can't wear out an MP3. Well, I hope you can't!

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but not much more than OK, 12 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These headphones are OK. Average. Fine.

Sound-wise, they're crisp and clear - but heavier on the bass than they should be. Maybe you'll like that, maybe the style of music you're into will reward it. There's nothing wrong with the treble and the mid-range, it's just that the bass is so much louder.
(And yes, I've left it for a while to see if it improved before reviewing. It didn't.)

In ergonomics, they're OK - they fit into the ear easily, they come with alternate sized earbuds if you have larger or smaller ears. But I can't tell right from left easily in poor light - the markings are small, and the tiny dot they've added to the left ear to help is just that - tiny.

If my comments seem out of place amongst the glowing reviews, bear in mind the price. I simply hoped for a slightly more balanced sound, and a slightly better ergonomic design.

Neither the sound nor ergonomics are soul-haunting travesties that will destroy your world. But they're not what I expected having paid a little extra for better headphones.
(My previous headphones were always Shure EC2's, so I'd like to think I know what a good in-ear isolating headphone is like.)

They're fine, which is why they're only getting three stars.

It worked first time, it was cheap, and it's well built. If you have an old laptop or netbook that's dead and you need data from it (or want to reuse the drive as external storage), this may well be the solution.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fine finish to a five-book series, 27 Sept. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Evolutionary Void (Hardcover)
Five book series? But surely this story is a trilogy?

Yes, but this book starts to really go back and rake up the material from the previous books. In tying up the trilogy, old scores are settled and old allies reunited, which might make it a little confusing for anyone that hasn't read Pandora's Star/Judas Unchained before this.

That sounds like criticism, but it's more a warning than anything else. This book screams along at a remarkable pace considering its length, and the end is superbly plotted. It's 600 pages of multiple chases, doomsday weaponry and intrigue, well woven together.

I just wish I'd re-read the first two novels in the Commonwealth universe first.
