5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book, 14 April 2009
This review is from: The Holy Vedas (Hardcover)
Its always difficult to get really good Hindu texts especially the Vedas. This book manages to strike the right balance. There are translated verses from the Vedas grouped under themes such as devotion, wisdom, creation and noble deeds. The verses are interspersed with images of nature and India.
The book contains hymns on the sciences covering astromomy, medicine, physics and chemistry. At the back of the book are all the hymns in the original sanskrit.
In all the book is 546 pages long and is the best Hindu text I have read as yet. There is always something here to provide inspiration and uplift.
I can thoroughly recommend this title.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent remake, 19 Oct 2004
At first I was worries that this would be a cheesy hollywood style remake of the original. This turned out not to be the case at all and I think this is a great film both as a remake and as a film in its own right. There are parallels with the orginal in terms of the script but enough orginality and some excellent black humour to keep you interested. The soundtrack is excellent and there is a complete change in the zombies movements. They move pretty fast now ! All in all, a great zombie film.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book, 23 Jun 2004
I have read a good number of books about Vietnam POWs and this is undoubtedly one of the best. The reader does not need an extensive knowledge of the conflict to get the best out of this heartwarming tale.
