Offered by Esale Express
Price: £67.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Sony does it again, 4 Nov 2014
For such a small box, the sound packs a clear and chest-felt BOOM. Nice discreet form factor, easy pairing with built in NFC and a clear, usable handsfree device for your phone. I think it's great and love the fact that I can pull it out from the mains and carry it from room to room (thanks to the battery backup) without interrupting my favourite tunes.

Crayola Sketcher Projector
Crayola Sketcher Projector

2.0 out of 5 stars 15 minutes of fame, 4 Nov 2014
This review is from: Crayola Sketcher Projector (Toy)
Great for around 15 minutes of play and then promptly got forgotten about. Both my lads enjoy art, drawing and painting etc, but this held their interest for very little time indeed. Also - once set up, you can't fold it back down, so forget about storing neatly in the cupboard as it won't go back into its box :(

It's a typical National Geographic publication treat - chock full of beautiful pictures, quirky facts and amazing opportunities to sneak in a bit more 'education' into your kids playtime...highly recommended.

Great quality toy - really well made and uber-simple to figure out (with a little help from mum or dad). The projects are easy to follow and there's a nice bit of variety. A great electronic starter kit for any budding Tesla.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hammers Ahoy, 4 Nov 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great treat for a budding 6 year old geologist - started a great conversation about how geodes were created, how mineral-soaked water dripped into the bubbles and how lava actually 'bubbled' even though it was actually rock...Be warned though - these are the real rock-McCoy, so don't expect them to be easy to open. Clobbering them with a hammer eventually leads to them exploding open, but I'd recommend using a cold chisel or an angle grinder to get a clean cut through the rock. There seems to be 3 different types of geode in each box, although the colouring of each crystal is broadly the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprised by other comments!, 6 Dec 2011
I'm genuinely surprised by some of the other comments on these capsules. I found the coffee was fresh, smelled great when I opened the packs and fitted into my Pixi Nespresso machine without any issue. I'm a lungo fan and found the coffee was perfect - not overly strong but very reasonable in a latte/cappuccino. I do think the pricing on Amazon is a bit bonkers - they should be less expensive than the market leader but once they get that right they're onto a winner in my opinion. About time we can break away from the Nespresso pod monopoly!

The Wonder Weeks. How to stimulate your baby's mental development and help him turn his 8 predictable, great, fussy phases into magical leaps forward

2.0 out of 5 stars Very general - and not as useful as you might expect, 1 Feb 2009
Having read some other passionate reviews of this book, I thought I'd have a look to see if it could help my wife and I figure out the occasional meltdown our 4 month old boy was having. The concept of regressive behaviours is sound, and the discussions about mental development milestones were interesting but the book is filled with unhelpful 'advice' on what a parent should do to assist their little ones mental growth. Sure, there's plenty of common sense in suggesting that you cuddle and comfort your baby as they go through an antsy few days, but do you really need to wade through yet another book of 'common sense' ideas about baby rearing? Here's a thought - why not go with your gut when thinking about what your baby needs - and most of the time you'll be spot on.

How to Get Rich
How to Get Rich
by Felix Dennis
Edition: Hardcover

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for the faint hearted, 10 April 2007
This review is from: How to Get Rich (Hardcover)
If you have an all consuming passion to be rich (and I don't mean 'comfortably off', I mean STINKING), read this book. Dennis' uncompromising view of the path to massive financial success is refreshingly honest, and he makes no bones about the personal sacrifices you'll have to make to follow in his footsteps. Unlike any other 'get rich qick' gurus, the author advocates a need to commit, body and soul, to your goals - and that you're in all likelihood going to have to work damn hard and cheese a lot of people off along the way. I liked his style, loose and witty; and the self deprecating view of his all-too-human flaws shows you Felix is a flawed man like the rest of us - but what seperates him from the herd is that he's got an ounce or three more committment to riches than the average Joe.

Who Says Elephants Can't Dance?: How I Turned Around IBM
Who Says Elephants Can't Dance?: How I Turned Around IBM
by Louis Gerstner
Edition: Audio CD

4.0 out of 5 stars A fine lesson in the art of management, 30 Jan 2005
Not only an interesting and compelling potted history of one of the global economies leading companies, this audiobook is also a fascinating diary, detailing the personal trials and triumphs of Louis Gerstner. He comes across as a man of action and vision, someone who while unafraid to make unpopular decisions regarding company restructuring, always led from the heart. His descriptions of difficult choices and hard-won results make this a great mini-MBA - some very valuable management advice is there for the taking. And it sure beats listening to the radio on the drive to the office!
