Riveted early and never looked back.
Recommended drama with plenty of twists.
As with Season 1 you are left hanging and a little surprised at the end and obviously thirst for the next season.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good pictures and background interest on the non countryside shots., 15 Feb 2014

Good pictures and background interest on the non countryside shots. There are some musings about the taker not being happy with his shots but for me I prefer the history being captured of both the railway and buildings and am not too bothered about the artistic merits of catching the train at the correct moment in the shot. So I am HAPPY with what I got!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good slice of history, 15 Feb 2014

Nicely told, obviously on a budget but well put to together, well acted, good feel of the time and surprisingly convincing. As with most historically accurate documentary dramatisation it is difficult to fully engage with the characters especially if you know your histories from your school days. However I did enjoy it, there was a sufficient covering of flesh to the bones of history to present an interesting insight into what was important to lordly and common folk around these times along with a very good view of the black and whites of society seemingly swinging between brutality and cheap lives to kindnesses and social justice. At the price I paid, well worth a watch!

As with most of the other seasons consistant high quality drama, I enjoyed it.
ONE more season to go I understand. It will be interesting to see how all the weaves and loose ends are all bound together for the final exit.

These really look good on my wifes ears and give an impression of a much higher value product than they actually are.
Very pleased and would recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars The violent and saucy romp through the story of Spartacus continues, 23 April 2013

I really enjoy this sort of thing and although I found this series far less complex than the other 2 releases so far.
Having said that it still managed to hold my attention and it gave similar levels of enjoyment to the previous series.
Looking forward to the release of the War of the Damned.
We all know how it ends but the journey so far has been very entertaining !!

Dying Star

4.0 out of 5 stars DYING STAR, 12 May 2010
This review is from: Dying Star (Paperback)
A well defined, well described world with some interesting characters. As a first of three this 'first story' is tidy with a good basic beginning, flowing story and end with the promise of unfinished business and more to come. I enjoyed its simplicity although I would suspect that as the author gains confidence so the twists and turns of the story telling will become more complex. There are plenty of action settings and a more than fair spluttering of blood and guts tempered with the intelligent story line which does maintain the readers interest. I enjoyed the book and would read the follow-on novels in the trilogy.
