The E.Q. Genius: Mastering Emotional Intelligence
The E.Q. Genius: Mastering Emotional Intelligence
by Gloria V. Moses
Edition: Paperback
Price: £4.91

1.0 out of 5 stars A list of bullet points and adverts for other "publications" by same publisher, 10 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Don't waste your money. This book has less then 50% content pages, and 50% listing for other "publications" by JNR Publishing. I use the term "publication" loosely in this context!!!

Four Counties & the Welsh Canals No. 4 (Collins Nicholson Waterways Guides)
Four Counties & the Welsh Canals No. 4 (Collins Nicholson Waterways Guides)

3.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable publication, but printing errors question its reliability as a solid guide, 27 Jun. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this book under the impression that Collins/Nicholson would proof read the guides before publication, but it appears that somebody got a bit lazy with cutting and pasting the generic map pages around the six different editions. Book 4 has the map relevant to Book 5...so I don't know what to expect when I receive Book 5 on super saver shortly.

Overall Four Counties and the Welsh Canals has some nice doctored Ordnance Survey maps, but as a directory of the route I suspect it might be a little sparse on detail, so have ordered the Pearson guides as well.

XMPP: The Definitive Guide: Building Real-Time Applications with Jabber Technologies
XMPP: The Definitive Guide: Building Real-Time Applications with Jabber Technologies
by Peter Saint-Andre
Edition: Paperback
Price: £24.23

3.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive read, but paper quality is very poor, 7 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very comprehensive technical reference for understanding and implementing solutions based on XMPP. Presence, messaging, publish/subscribe, examples all covered.

Shame that O'Reilly decided to print to demonstrate that you shouldn't print books on cheap, thin recycled paper. By far the worst packaging imprint I've seen of an O'Reilly publication.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dunlop not durable. Strap cracked/broke, did not do the distance. Warrany pointless., 18 Sept. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this watch to use for leisure, not playing sports (as the Dunlop Sports brand would have you believe we all play)...only to be incredibly disappointed that the strap doesn't stay the distance AND get this, is not covered by the warranty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Escape from corporate treacle, 27 Jan. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A book to get you focussed. All procrastinators stuck in ever slowing corporate treacle must read this. Wakes you up to the opportunities you are missing each day...and gets you to realise that the apparent sweet, sticky nature of corporate life is actually bad for your well being.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good concept. Execution flawed., 13 Feb. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Hello! Flex 4 (Paperback)
This book is a gentle introduction to Flex 4 and well conceived. However the execution is flawed: too many errors in the printed edition which have not been corrected in the free online edition. This makes the book frustrating to use as a training material for less experienced colleagues. Not recommended in current edition.

Python Fundamentals LiveLessons (video Training)
Python Fundamentals LiveLessons (video Training)
by Wesley J Chun
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive refresher and strangely compelling. Some video howlers., 23 Jun. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very comprehensive and good refresher, plus guide for shifting from Python 2.x to 3.0 etc.

Using it partly to encourage kids into programming, since Python is one of the easiest languages to pick-up.

Whilst occasionally Wesley Chun can get a bit pedestrian in his lessons, there are some absolute howlers. Particularly when he loses it in Lesson 6 (one of the longest), and you here him getting extremely frustrated then cutting the mike. I'm guessing that when they editted this lesson the editor also got a bit tired!!

Irrespective of the final polish, its a great introduction that I would have not hesitation in recommending. Far easier than ploughing through the boooks (most of which are still only 2.x).

1.0 out of 5 stars Amazing picture (whilst it worked) - failed after 29 days, 2 Dec. 2007
Confident of a good product - it being Panasonic, we were not let down - excellent picture quality, ease of tuning, simple connectivity (Panasonic HDD, Apple Mac etc) using HDMI; and beautiful piano black case. A heavy beast, but lived up to commercial review expectations.

Unfortunately the experience only lasted 29 days, and then it failed. Had to scour internet, as manual had little in the way of fault finding to discover that its electrical protection circuit was cutting in... disappointed - perhaps it was manufactured on a Friday afternoon?
