5.0 out of 5 stars By the end you will be shocked, excited, worried and ready..., 3 April 2013
Banners, swords, hopes, sigils, dreams and reality, the first season of a 'Game of Thrones' follows closely to the fist book in the A Song of Ice and Fire, 7 Volumes series by George R.R. Martin also called A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1).

This series is truly epic, the Blu ray quality is fantastic and the story is ground breaking. I would advice having a couple of days free when you buy this as the chances are you will watch one and find yourself flying through all 10 episodes in no time at all.

By the end you will be shocked, excited, worried and ready... Winter is coming...

Dvd ~ Steve Buscemi

Price: £72.72

5.0 out of 5 stars How does loyalty works while prohibition is king?, 3 April 2013
Season One:

Life during prohibition was tough, the rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer.

What choices would you make? Where would you turn?

The first season of the 'Boardwalk Empire' is brutal yet brilliant, following the journey of a few to show the situation of the many.

Great characters, realistic lifestyles and an epic story, would you expect anything less from a HBO production?

A must see for the not so faint of heart as life is can be raw on the Boardwalk.

Season Two:

If you see how the wealthy live, would you try to strike out on your own?

Season two of the 'Boardwalk Empire' shows us how the wealthy live and how the servants aim to become their own masters.

With the same characters as the first season, this show will move you and make you re-think how loyalty works while prohibition is king.

This season draws the line under a lot of things, one could very well just watch season one and season two and feel it has been rounded off and completed.

Though season three is now set up to be brutal, truly brutal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Setting the scene for events yet to come..., 28 Mar. 2013
A great introduction to Aquaman and Aquawoman.

This story is cleverly progressed, a little fast paced and not too deep but it is setting the scene for events yet to come, once you have read this you feel like you understand the superheroes as well as the world they are placed and the public opinion of them.

It is a great introduction to a fantastic enemy and a fantastic story line, Aquaman is a lot of fun, give it a read!

5.0 out of 5 stars It is fast paced, action packed, unique and fun., 27 Mar. 2013
So I have only really ever read 'Marvel' and 'Image' comics before, though I have seen DC films and cartoons.

This graphic novel collecting the first 6 issues of 'Justice League - The New 52: Origin' has to be up there with some of the best comics I have ever read.

It is fast paced, action packed, unique and fun. With the creation of one superhero and the back stories compacted in to it, this truly is a fantastic piece of work that will take you 60 minuets max to read.

Now, it has Wonder Woman in it, I was VERY unsure of that, but they portray her in a great light, the graphics of her are not 'soft-porn' as they often have been in the past and she fits in with the rest of the team very well.

The art work is unique and the details is brilliant, I also love the size of the writing as well as they font style, making it very easy to read and very enjoyable!

This is a must read for all comic book fans and is up there just under 'The Walking Dead' with my all time favourites.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was a particularly strange story seeming a little random and mixed paced, 27 Mar. 2013
This review is from: Minimum Carnage (Paperback)
I have read all the Venom stories up to this point, I have however not read any Scarlet Spider or Carnage stories before this graphic novel

It was a particularly strange story seeming a little random and mixed paced, with masses happening in a short space of time and then very little happening for a while.

There was a large amount of 'new' characters to get my head around, some I could of know if I had read the other comics, but others introduced within the 'macro-universe' this novel is based on.

There where some great characters and traits but no where near enough depth to feel attached and drawn to them. They fight for a cause, one that we never saw the history of or the future potential, both of which would have helped the reader place them in their mind more easily.

It killed a plain journey for me, 2 hours of graphic novel fun, but this graphic novel holds nothing on the first Venom novel which is a true master piece in my opinion.

However, saying all that I will still look into the back story of both 'Scarlet Spider' and 'Carnage', both characters seem very interesting and in their own settings could be exciting reads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Too few people talk about how easy affairs are..., 26 Mar. 2013
This review is from: His Needs, Her Needs (Paperback)
I get married on the 6th of July 2013; some of you will be reading this before then, others after.

His needs, Her needs is a very thought provoking book, much like The Five Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts it raises the needs of your spouse and how to go about providing to fulfil and reach these needs for them, to express love and worth.

Rather than aiming at a single need, this book explains that each person is different, and how ALL of these needs are important to each person, so one must try to find out the most important one, but also fulfil all of them.

I prefer how the 5 love langue's works, finding the key area need to impact to express love to your spouse, it makes it sound so simple. Though this book does remind the reader that people are deeper than just a single need and as life shifts and changes, needs will as well.

What I did love about this book was the way in which it opened my eyes to how easy it is to fall into an affair, it shows the reader the warning signs of an affair and how to combat them and to make sure it never happens.

I will be eternally grateful for that, too few people talk about how easy affairs are and we need to be aware of the roads that lead to them.

For your information: I asked top leaders from some of the best Churches across Europe and North America for their opinion on what is the top marriage book. After going through their answers the top ones mentioned time and time again are:

1, Love & Respect by Emerson Eggerichs
2, Things I Wish I'd Known Before We Got Married by Gary Chapman
3, The Five Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts by Gary Chapman
4, His Needs, Her Needs: Building an Affair-Proof Marriage by Willard F. Harley
5, Sacred Marriage: What If God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy? by Gary L. Thomas
6, Sheet Music: Uncovering the Secrets of Sexual Intimacy in Marriage by Kevin Leman (with this one I have been advised to only read it a couple of weeks before I get married!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Use every tool available to understand your spouse better so that you can more effectively work at loving them!, 8 Mar. 2013
I get married on the 6th of July 2013; some of you will be reading this before then, others after.

This book has blown wide open the doors of serving and working at 'love' within our relationship!

Kirsty and myself have known what each other have needed to feel loved for many years, but this book has helped us to hone this knowledge into a category that makes it easy to work effectively at expressing love to each other. We know what each other needs to fill their tank, to feel loved and to see that overflow in every area of life.

It is hard at times, as I am in the last few months of my degree at Bible college and we are apart a lot of the time, but when we are together we pour into each other, for her 'physical touch' and for me 'words of affirmation' are our primary love languages, both of our secondary language is 'quality time', so we focus on these three and give our all as often as we can!

Relationships are hard work, use every tool available to understand your spouse better so that you can more effectively work at loving them, because they are worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Draw droppers, hysterical encounters, curious side notes, dangerous truths and a magical universe devastated by war..., 5 Mar. 2013
Draw droppers, hysterical encounters, curious side notes, dangerous truths and a magical universe devastated by war that neither side saw start in their generation...

Two ex-soldiers come lovers start out in a life together, from opposite sides of the conflict, their union and child mean that the world is changing. Because of this everyone wants their message of hope and the symbol they represent to be destroyed, their new born child.

Lurchibles, the top reviewer for this product, my brother and the guy that got me into comics makes a great point when he points out 'that the first issue is available to read for free on the "Comixology" website (give it a Google). By having a read of this you can immediately see if you're feeling either disgusted or intrigued by the "Saga" Universe.' I would advise ALL to do this, simply because the first issue is true to the progression of the story and the feel of the rest of this collected issue.

When people see the front cover they often ask me, 'What the heck is that?', all I can simply say is it is a dark masterpiece with a light and drawing feel that WILL suck you in. Simple to follow with a clear story, cliff-hangers and a mismatch of magic, weapons, animals, bounty hunters, humans and TV faced royalty, this is a superb comic, quite possibly the best I have ever read.

*Warning* - There are sex scenes within the comic, nothing brutal but the younger readers should be aware before they stumble upon them.

For those who want to collect, I would advise trying to get hold of first prints of the individual comics now, although they cost quite a bit they will only go up in value as the story progresses and more and more people catch onto it.

Give the 'Saga' universe a whirl and you may just find a balance that you love with a story that has you hanging upon it's every turn.
