The first Blandings novel, perhaps not the best but a delight nonetheless. Go Beach!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent as usual, 19 July 2014
A wonderful little treat. Like all Julia Donaldson's books the wordplay is beautifully judged, with illustrations that compliment and amuse. The artwork is superb, as might be expected.

A very enjoyable addition to our little shelf of her books.

Or in the mood for something different?

Be instantly and happily invigorated by the humour in Sherlock Holmes and the Flying Zombie Death Monkeys.

Fervent amusement immediately and a shining example of parodic art at its best.

How essential is this? A real slice of silliness and very very funny.

Very funny. This is a blast and a tour through the unusual eyes of the very funny Mr Waters. Genuinely surprising and a real ball.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark, gleefully dark, 17 July 2014
This is a nasty one! This season takes the show on a bloodier and altogether darker direction. I've a lot of time for anyone involved in this show. The ending is a real shocker.

Wonderful television. Exciting, funny and at times genuinely shocking. Shows what a tv show can do.

The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins
The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins
by John Pearson
Edition: Paperback
Price: 7.19

4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating book, 15 July 2014
This tells an unromantic view of the Kray twins, with no glamourising their vicious natures. It is quite a fascinating and frightening look at what can occur. The way they dodged the law in numerous ways is fascinating and amazing.

4.0 out of 5 stars grows into something...quite else, 15 July 2014
Those vocals have mellowed into what is now a more mature bitter rasp.

Still an arse collapsing hypocrite, but whatever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Teenage Girl's Dream Band, 30 Jun 2014
Well, my niece saw this show and she was jabbering for more in the car on the way back. I didn't see it myself but she told me I had to write this and give them five stars, so there you go.

Personally I'd recommend the big pile of awesome that is Sherlock Holmes and the Flying Zombie Death Monkeys. Hilarious, original and extremely witty, it's a hit for an unsung English humorist. Top banana!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Journey, 30 Jun 2014
This review is from: Mutineers (Audio CD)
This is a mellow and mature album, and you can tell a lot went into its creation. Melodically he has matured a lot and brings a very spritely range of tunes to the songs here.

It's a pretty laid back affair. I enjoyed it a great deal but don't know when I'll be in the mood for it again. Even so, some beautiful stuff here, but definitely a mood album.

While it's very left of centre I'd certainly recommend the big pile of awesome that is Sherlock Holmes and the Flying Zombie Death Monkeys. Hilarious, original and extremely witty, it's a hit for an unsung English humorist. Top banana!
