It's hard to write a review of the greatest album ever released. You cannot compare this to anything else. It's more outrageous than anything Parliament have ever done. The musicians are tighter, faster and wilder than 99.9% of anything you'll ever hear even today. The storyline is absurd, brilliant, politics, outrageous and hilarious. Sure it's a flawed masterpiece, but it belongs with not only the greatest rock albums of all time but the greatest operas too. Individual songs deserve nothing more than scientific analysis. It also take a huge s*** on Scientology which means it's essential buying for any household.

Sad but true - fruit of the loom ruin everything they touch. But what do you expect for £10. Not much and that's what you get. Fanboy purchase.

This review is from: Life to Everything (Audio CD)
It's hard to pick a favourite in such an incredibly talented trio. But if forced I'd have to say it's Anton Eager purely because he is one of the best drummers alive today - and boy is he gorgeous! So incredibly tight and precise and yet manages to effortlessly finagle your noggin with his rhythmic wizardry - it's the perfect accompaniment to the military precision Jasper lays on thick and fast. Evo is a god amongst men and that's all that needs saying. If I could, I would marry this band, take them home to meet my mother and live in pure bliss for 100 years.

Buy this album before you buy all the others as it's closer to what you'll get when you see them live.

Sound Reinforcement Handbook
Sound Reinforcement Handbook
by Gary Davis
Edition: Paperback
Price: £16.97

4.0 out of 5 stars Please remember this book was printed in 1990, 6 Jan 2014
When it came out this was THE book to cut your teeth on as a sound engineer. Arguments that it's 'out of date' are obvious - so is 1980's Roland synth - but the fact that there's anything of relevance in these pages is a marvel. The main reason why it's worth owning is for a nostalgic look in to sound engineering, it's an amazingly well preserved look in to the fundamentals of sound design. As it approaches 25 years old it still has a lot of knowledge and brilliant insights in to how old school equipment works but also demonstrates a well thought approach to learning acoustic theory, MIDI and microphone technique for music production. The fact it's even relevant at all in a field that's been through 2 major revolutions in technology since it's release is testament to it's quality. I paid £9 for my copy and if you see one this cheap - buy it. Flick through it and keep it on your shelf as a classic.
