3.0 out of 5 stars Average horror with a couple of good scary moments, 16 May 2008
I must admit that i wasn't really expecting much from this film when i saw it at the cinema.
It is very watchable, and at times very creepy, especially that old lady figurine. But at times the special effects are a bit naf.
And the ending is a little disappointing, i won't give it away though.
This is another run of the mill east meets west horrors in nature but does keep you watching all the way through. If the ending had been better then it would have achieved a four star, at one point in the film i thought they were going to blame the teddy bear!?! You'll understand if you watch the film!
I would recommend this film but don't pay a lot for it!
Also if you are a fan of blood and guts horror then there is nothing for you here!
Hope this helps!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, 15 May 2008
I remember going to the cinema to watch saw 3 and when jigsaw was killed at the end i found myself quite gutted....thinking that there wouldn't or couldn't be another saw film.
Then heard that they were making a saw 4!
I refused to watch it at first as i thought that the original charactor of jigsaw would be replaced!
Then realised that it was a kind of a pre-quel to the other 3 films!
Although quite complicated to follow (especially if you haven't seen any of the others in the series!) it really is a must see. I saw it first at the cinema which made it even better and couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD.
The intricate story lines and great casting really make the films(particularly Tobin Bell as Jigsaw), and this particular motorised box is a gem!
A must for any horror fan!!!
