4.0 out of 5 stars Good Moons!, 17 Sept. 2009
This review is from: Seven Moons Live (Audio CD)
Great album, this is a real power trio, and one of the best. They played really close here.
The sound is good but not superb. The Cream 2005 reunion was far better in that way (ok musicaly too, but they where The Cream!!!).
Sadly I didn't like too much the mix. Robin's Guitar sounds very dry (a little reverb will be nice), and Jack bass sounds too low, why they cut his high frequencies?
I feel that with a better EQ of the bass this album will sound even more powerfull. Anyway this is a tech mistake, the music is fantastic.
In other way I wish that someday Jack will go back to his wawick fretless.

Gary Husband did a good job, is the perfect drummer for a trio since Baker. Robin played great as usual. Jack too, and is getting better all the time since his illnes. In some songs his voice sounds hurt but at the same time bluesy like never before, I like it.
But also I think that they must have recorded more shows and then select the best takes. That would be less stressful for Jack, specialy for the cream songs... they keep out 'We're going wrong'.

The tracks from Seven Moons are the highlights, the song 'Carmen' is a great surprise, and for me sounds even better than then!!! Some more 'old' songs from Truce & BLT could be amazing played now in that new fresh style!

Well at last this is a GOOD album, and I can't wait to watch the DVD!!!

What's next Mr.Bruce? maybe Leslie West? will be a good choice. You can imagine that?!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 23 April 2003
This review is from: Reaching The Cold 100 (Audio CD)
This is a great album, more destiny road than time traders. Very bluesy!.
The mixed melodies of the harp and guitar are really great, specially "Dangerous Man", the best song. I Love the way that Peter plays the harmonica.
The band works well, I also like so much the bass.
That cd sounds great since the first play, but sounds better everyday,As The Best Cd's!
The bonus cd got a superb cover of black magic woman, with a little Santana tribute.
Buy it Now, It's great!!!
