The author of this book is Gillian Cross, She has written a number of other stories these are a few of them:

Hayley and Annie take a long planned trip to Russia to look at the place where Hayley's brother died. When their Annie and Hayley see something more about the building were Hayley's brother was said to die then what they were told.
A mysterious story excellent for people who like mysteries.
The only thing I disliked about the book was that it jumps back and forth a lot.

ISBN: 9780192717504
Author: Gillian Cross
Note: This book is probably for 5th graders on.
Ashley is in 7th grade. And she thinks she can do everything. She manages quite a lot, and she is very nice, but if you knew this story, you wouldn't think that she was the way the book describes her. Totally. And then one day Ashley sees the wall. It was perfect. It was just standing there, waiting for someone to go and tag it. And that is exactly what Ashley is thinking of doing. Ashley does it! But soon Ashley finds herself being stalked. Vikki, her best friend tells her about this guy called "Eddie Beal". Vikki says that Eddie is like the "Boss", and she says that Eddie can help her find out who the stalker is. Can Eddie help Ashley? Ashley tries to get help from him, and she does. But she needs to entertain him once in a while. After a lot of disgusting letters, and skulls, Eddie tells her this. "One more clue," he says, "And we can find out who the stalker is". Then they think they found out. But Ashley can't believe who it is. Vikki insists that she tells everyone who they think the stalker is. So soon, practically the whole town knew who the stalker was, or at least they thought they did. Find out who the stalker is with Ashley, and read through this fantastic, fun, tense story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wolf Rocks in my point of view!, 28 Jan 2002
This review is from: Wolf (Puffin Books) (Paperback)
Book Review- Wolf
This book is a book about a girl called Casy who lived with her paternal Grandmother. She had a father who had divorced her mother. Casy called her Grandmother Nan.
He came early in the morning. He slowly padded across the portico. And silently passed the closed door. One glimpsed at his shadow. He silently walked past the closed door again, but Cassy saw him!
Cassy had never understood the connection to her midnight visitor and to her Nan's flat and her sudden trips to her Mother's house. But this time, she knew something was wrong.
When Cassy was on her way to her mother's house, she finds out that her mother is living in a squat with her boyfriend Lyall and his son Robert. Lyall, Robert and Cassy's mom are interested in Wolves and are doing a small play about it. Cassy finds herself involved in this play and she also finds out a real Wolf is following her all the time, what could it be?
My Opinion
My opinion is this great amazing suspense story is one of Gillan Cross's greatest book ever. It was funny, intresting and definitely an electrifying splendid daring book. It was also once the winner of the CARNGIE MEDAL.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charlie Wilcox, what is that weird picture?, 28 Jan 2002
This review is from: Pictures in the Dark (Paperback)
Charlie Wilcox gazed down at the river from the old bridge one cold night. He was there to take an adventurous picture, just like what his photography teacher asked for. He was in gear with a few packets of film and a camera with its zoom lens. He was waiting there all night for something to come.
Suddenly the river gleamed in the colour of black and orange. Charlie snatched his camera while something, (probably and animal.) swam through the river followed by beautiful V shaped ripples. He pressed the shutter button just as the thing swam by. It just left Charlie with a picture to wonder about and think about with only half of the animal in it. There was something weird about it. So weird it gave him the shivers.
What is the secret behind this picture? What swam through the river? Nothing has lived in the river, or has it? These are the questions you should be wondering while reading this book. The type of book that you will read over and over. I really recommend this five-stared book!

My book review
Title: Pictures in the dark
Author: Gillian Cross
ISBN: 0-8234-1267-9
Publisher: Oxford University Press in Great Britain
Publishing date: 1996
Star Ranking: ****
This book is a book for fourth through sixth grade. When you start reading the book, it may seem a little boring, if you keep on reading, you will get more and more interested in reading the book. You may even stay up till midnight, just reading this book! This book is about a boy named Charlie Wilcox and some of his friends. One day while Charlie was walking on an old bridge, he saw a movement in a river. So he took a photo. It was an animal, which looked like an otter but everyone knew there were no more otters in the river. Some girls tease a boy (his friend's brother) by calling him names like "Evil Eye" because they think bad things happen when you go near him. Charlie helps this boy by getting him out of trouble or stopping him from doing something wrong. As Charlie gets closer to find out who or what the animal is, he goes through some things that he does not want to go through. What happens to Charlie and his friends? Read the book to find out.

The Demon Headmaster Strikes Again
The Demon Headmaster Strikes Again
by Gillian Cross
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars I really like this funny and scary book, 28 Jan 2002
In this story there will be Harvey, Lloyd and Dinah who have to move, because their dad has a new job. Lloyd doesn't seem to like it, as he is shouting that he wants the SPLAT closer. Well if you are wondering what the SPLAT is, you might read the first book on this list of the Demon Headmaster. The Demon Headmaster has disappeared for a little time after their first and second adventure, and they don't know where he is. OK, back to the moving. Their dad got a letter and they moved. The SPLAT would come behind them. When they look around in the village later that day, they see a bakery. Inside the bakery there are a few people. When Lloyd and Harvey ask them how they think about the lab they get to hear that the lab is helpful to the people and tries to do things with nature to keep nature clean. They hear exactly the same when they ask other people, until they see Simon and he says something else, although he starts shouting at Lloyd. Would the Demon Headmaster be involved? I think this book is an excellent book and I really recommend it.
