From the Eye of the Hurricane: My Story
From the Eye of the Hurricane: My Story
by Alex Higgins
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.87

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth reading., 16 Sep 2014
Was never a fan of Higgins. I said I'd buy the book before judging any more. After I read the book, then met the man & played against him, I disliked him even more. Just not a nice person from what I read in the book, an arrogant prick and he was like that in person. The book is honest & forthright so for that it is a good read. Whether you love him or hate him. Id recommend buying this and judging for yourself. A good read.

Sporting hero. Read this so many times. I've been through & am still going through a lot of similar personal struggles. Greatest snooker player ever. A natural athlete & like so many other geniuses, flawed. We're only human.

If you're looking for history of a kata, look somewhere else. It does state however that this is aimed at someone with prior knowledge of the kata.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gritty, honest & no frills!, 16 Sep 2014
One of my sporting hero's. On/off the table. Just in life in general. We all have demons. Sometimes its like reading about myself. Both in terms of snooker & running. Not at elite level of course as Ronnie is but i understand the personal struggles and can relate to it very much. Couldn't put it down. Like his first book, done in 2 days. Hope you do a 3rd Ronnie. Keep on fighting.

My Sensei. Privilege to have received a Black Belt from him. A reminder that we're all human & theres no such thing as a master, in life or a dojo. If you want reality, honesty & spirit; you need this.

Total waste of time. Poor translation from French to Eng. I think. You almost want a dictionary/thesaurus to read this.

Great reading about the streets and the footwork. I'm not into the body guarding or shooting myself so i skipped over that. Great reading though
