I got excited about this as only a kitchen nerd can. She gleams, she shines and she flirts with every one in the kitchen. Saucy caah.

A ridiculous bargain this. Cool brown strap, retro dial although the face is a tadge too big. Simple, beautiful oh and it tells the time too.

Never mind talking about being friends with the rich n mighty and bragging about money and lifestyle. This was when the young J was lean and hungry. The rhymes are tight and relevant and the production and samples are to damn soulful to bare. Premier League hip hop that don't stop. What happened to you maan!
Biggs, Mary and Foxy also come to the party and they tear the sonovabi*ch up!

1.0 out of 5 stars Really? No really?, 20 Jun. 2013

Stay away from this garlic lovers. It is flimsy and ineffective. The middle bit soon became warped and unuseable. What a load of old rubbish. I've got an iron, moulded all in one now and nobody messes with that mother!

5.0 out of 5 stars Groovy Maan, 20 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
One of my favourite ever books. yes it can appear dated with all it's 'daddyo's, squares, groovy et al' but who cares for God's sake. This was 50's America. the Jazz was cool, the streets were mean, the gals were sassy. This is dirty, boozy, hedonistic, drug fuelled craziness. I had the worst hangover after reading this! The vistas are huge and the road is so long with a surprise at every corner. Every one has to do at least one road trip in their life. And I'm not talking about Milton Keynes to Bedford either daddyo!

5.0 out of 5 stars FREEDOM!, 20 Jun. 2013

Made me want to pack my torch, sleeping bag and cheese sandwich and take to the high road and heather in search of adventure, friendship and love. Boys own stuff this and possibly RLS' best. This guy knew how to spin a yarn and this flies along from one adventure to another. It has loyalty, betrayal, fear and exhaustion in equal measures and I was transported to cliff edges and woodlands.

Al Green he ain't. But Aloe has his niche and he keeps true to his Soul roots whilst trying to crossover and spread the gospel to the mainstream, spoon fed, top ten bovine masses. And why not. A few week tracks but some very nice poppy soulful tunes that make you want to have a darned good time. Watched him live on TV at Glastonbury and thought 'yeah, that's a pleasant change to the navel gazing'. Just short of being really good.

What a ripping yarn. Foggy London with its sinister alleys and precocious gutter snipes comes to life. And how! A classic from one of the greatest British adventure writers ever. The inexplicable revulsion and fear you feel for Mr Hyde is palpable.

Brass and horns that seep into your bone marrow and stay there forever. This has not dated it has aged. Made many a young turk push his ska and punk records to one side and embark on a quest for perfect Soul. For me it is all about the brass. It's not diluted and shoved into the back ground, it's in your face like a gale force wind and by God, it cheers me up. Urban Soul from the bleak Midlands that stirs the heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars We are the MODS!, 20 Jun. 2013

Authentic. Evocative. One or two tracks that are a bit overtly bubble gummish, dated and twee for my tastes. However the belters more than make up for them. Dance floor movers, hip shakers, and shufflers of the highest quality. Find yourself a Soul 'do', put your ox blood loafers on and forget that your 48 and overweight if only for a few hours.
