4.0 out of 5 stars Pandaemonium, 19 July 2010
This review is from: Pandaemonium (Paperback)
You just know what you'll get when you sit down to read a Christopher Brookmyre novel. Fast paced action with so many twists you feel like an overworked corkscrew. The subject matter was a bit more on the esoteric side than his usual fare, but this does not diminish his ability to keep a firm grip on this reader's attention.

BUY NOW!!!! You won't be disappointed.

Great stuff. I had forgotten how many songs the Beat had that were locked away in my memory. The first CD rattles along with brilliant song after brilliant song. I have listened to it start to finish twice in a row without getting bored. The second CD is maybe more for the completists amongst us, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not many hits or A-Sides, but plenty of quality songs. Buy this now!!!

Already knew what to expect, having this on vinyl, but the second CD was a welcome bonus. The live tracks are of decent quality (production-wise) and include some rarities. Well worth the purchase on their own. Get this CD even if you already have the vinyl, You won't regret it!!!!

Standing in the Way of Control

A better than expected listen. To be honest, I had dismissed this band due to the hype surrounding their singer's size/weight/antics on stage. On finally listening to this CD, I was immediately taken with the, in my opinion, good, old-fashioned guitar rock songs coupled with a singer whose voice perfectly complements the band. There is no filler on this CD. Every track deserves its place. I might have been late in getting round to this band, but I'm glad I eventually did.
