A moderate interesting faction book., 19 April 2002
War Game Book Review
I think that this book is aimed at 8 to 12 year olds.
The subject of this story was an excellent choice by Michael Foreman, as it shows that in the war, the soldiers were not really enemies and were forced to fight. It also proves that despite the fact that that time was dominated by war, they could still have some fun with a game of football. In a situation like this it is a good thing that it is faction.
In this story there are lots of pictures, which, as most relate to the story, are valuable assets. There is large print and combined with the few pages make this book very light reading and a good way to kill ten minutes. The paragraphs are miniscule as well.
I conclude that this book is definitely best for 8 to 12 year olds. Although it should be sold in many places, I would not buy it, it is still a good book.
