Zeva Damascus Steel 7" Chefs Santoku Knife
Zeva Damascus Steel 7" Chefs Santoku Knife
Offered by Zeva Mundial Knives, Scissors & Manicure
Price: £25.20

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value and choice, 18 Sep 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent value, comfortable, incredibly (almost dangerously) sharp. VG10 steel with HRC of 63 - an improvement on the normal mid price range. The Richardson equivalent are about x3 more albeit they have 50+ folds in steel making as oppose to the 35 of this Damascus steel process. Not dishwasher suitable but high end knives should not be dished anyway. Have also purchased 2 other knives in range.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding value 4G phone with only weakness an average (basic) camera, 18 Sep 2014
Summary - Outstanding value 4G phone with good screen and no bloatware that will do most of what the majority of users require. Weakspot is the camera.

This is written from perspective of somebody who is an average user of their phone with calls, texts, email, GPS navigation, twitter etc. but not for anything other than simple games .

Upgraded from 5 year old HTC Desire running Cyanogen Android 2.3 that even with apps extending on SD card was running out of memory constantly - the reason for upgrade. Bought as SIM free as I am with 3 and 4G available around my area at no extra cost wanted a basic 4G phone and have not been disappointed. The screen is great and bright and it runs almost stock android 4.4. Kitkat with no bloatware and is amazingly fast compared to my old Desire. Setting it up was quick and easy and the Motorola Migrate was very useful for migrating texts and phone logs etc. (creates temporary direct WiFi connection between the two phones) but as use Google all my contacts and emails did not need transfer and just appeared. 4G performance is amazing where there is a 4G signal and basic features such as call quality are good. Battery life is excellent (far better than my wives iPhone 5 albeit hers is 1-2 year old) and as light user is still often 70-80% charged at end of day although a pity it is not removable battery like my old Desire. For me it is a good size and still fits easy into shirt pocket as so many phones seem unnecessarily large now if you also use a tablet. The camera is adequate for basic work (social media etc..) but would say is a weakness compared to expensive phone such as iPhone (much better detail and colour) but you could get dedicated small compact camera(better than smartphone cameras) +Moto G 4G for less than high end phone if photography is important. Only problem so far is that very occasionally on disconnecting from charger the phone does not recognise running on battery and still shows it is connected - not sure if this is hardware or android issue.

Overall excellent buy and difficult to see better value 4G phone and not sure that the £350 higher end phones offer £200 extra value to most people. Highly recommend as SIM free purchase and then get cheap SIM free PAYG or monthly contract with no tie ins.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent choice - note for Mac users, 23 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Chosen as has a grey ink and should be better for B&W. Print quality excellent but have not done too many complicated photo prints yet so time will tell. Using wireless connection and not needed to use the ethernet or USB, all setup was done via wireless. The second tray will only take small prints but not a major issue.

Mac Users: As soon as you choose to add the printer in System Preferences OSX will offer to download the software from Apple Update server and install it and the printer -scanner will then work. However this seems to be only a basic printer driver e.g. the choice of Media type is only plain, photo paper and envelope - not the listed Canon photo papers. The CD that comes with the printer is for Windows and no reference to Mac. To get it working (e.g. showing options for all different type of papers, color profiles etc..) I deleted the printer from the Print-Scan module in System Preferences in OSX , went to Canon website and downloaded from here http://goo.gl/xi8jbR the Product Setup. There are good instructions on the page how to use the dmg download file (c 400MB) and run setup program. This will also give options to install the Quick Menu, Image Garden etc. and providing you include the Network option it can all be done wirelessly providing the printer is on network.

Excellent printer providing you are happy with A4 maximum size (was looking at the Pixma Printer Pro 100 A3 and more shades of grey) but rarely will do A3 and if so will outsource to online lab and MG7150 is significantly cheaper to run. Setup instructions that come with the printer for Mac user could be improved - even if it was just to direct you to the web site and not accept the Apple auto install

Accidentally wrote original review under the Thermapen protective silicone rubber boot review as this came with the thermomemeter. To summarise good, fast (reads as you push it through bread) , not cheapest but highly recommended.

Great value. Has improved pizza no end. Preheat in oven at 240C for 20-25minutes before and with home made pizza dough produces better base than oven alone even with the oven on pizza setting. At this price difficult to not buy it if you make pizza and do not have a stone.

This is not intended to be a complete coverage of PSE and is more oriented to doing certain jobs and tasks but in doing so you learn lots about PSE in general. It does cover most areas of PSE but not everything in every section. Well laid out with lots of screenshots to follow and you can download the images to practice on which is very helpful. I bought it to learn basics for creative editing that I cannot do in Lightroom and was struggling with the different select tools and layers and this book has give me that initial start that I needed.
