Good product from a great game producer. Great quality cards and you get 3 copies of each card in the pack so you have lots of flexibility when deck building.

The Player Of Games (The Culture)
The Player Of Games (The Culture)
by Iain M. Banks
Edition: Paperback
Price: 8.36

5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch!, 5 Sep 2013
There is something that is beyond my meagre writing skills to describe about Banks' culture series. Despite the book oozing with futuristic hyper technology these are really stories about people and cultures.

On the surface these are engaging and well constructed sci-fi tales, below that surface is something more visceral and engrossing that I know how to describe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, perfect technical level., 21 Jun 2013

An excellent level of technical detail is presented here. This book gives you exactly what you need to have a true understanding of how the features described really work.

More than this it also provides real world advice on what to change and what not to change.

The design considerations presented regarding distribution of multiple clusters across multiple blade chassis was also very insightful.

I would recommend this title to anybody interested in really understanding the details of HA and DRS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Complete treatment of vSphere 5, 27 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased this book mainly to assist with study for the VCP5 exam, however I've found it a great reference book too. I often flip to a random page just to learn something new.

Fantastic book written by a true expert on the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars A tense and involving read, 11 Jun 2012

This review is from: I Am Legend (Paperback)
Fantastic work and a true classic. Matheson brings you right into the plight of the main character and keeps things moving along. The sense of isolation is conveyed perfectly and you begin to empathise with the main character.

The Hieroglyphs Handbook: Teach Yourself Ancient Egyptian
The Hieroglyphs Handbook: Teach Yourself Ancient Egyptian

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent starter book and may be all you need!, 11 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased this book as I wanted a quick and straightforward introduction to heiroglyphs. This book delivered that, very clear illustrations and covers the basics that an interested person would want to know.

It's worth mentioning that this is quite a short book, but covers what you need as a casual beginner. However even if I continue to learn more about heiroglyphs I would still be satisfied with this book a a first purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reference for the aviation enthusiast., 1 Jun 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great reference for the aviation enthusiast. This book as all the UK G- registrations, type and register owner. However what makes it really stand out (if that wasn't enough) that a generous selection of international aircraft are also provided. I live in the vicinity of Heathrow airport and i've found every overseas aircraft I've looked up in this book.

Essential reference!

IBM's 360 and Early 370 Systems (History of Computing)
IBM's 360 and Early 370 Systems (History of Computing)
by Ew Pugh
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars A very detailed treatment of the early IBM mainframes, 13 Aug 2008
What I especially enjoyed about this title was the IBM 'backstory' which is vital to understanding how System 360 came about. It is surprising just how many computing advances IBM appear responsible for.

It can seem a little dry in parts due to some of the technical information relayed in the text but remains fascinating throughout! If you have any interest in the history of computers or historical computing you should have this book.

Hyperion (GOLLANCZ S.F.)
Hyperion (GOLLANCZ S.F.)
by Dan Simmons
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars I worry nothing will supass this!, 13 Aug 2008

As a hard sci-fi fan I'd never had Hyperion high on my list of 'must reads' however I picked it up a few months ago and was hooked by the first few pages. This is sci-fi and indeed writing at it's VERY best. Hyperion has so many interesting, emotional and captivating facets. I've never been drawn into a book/universe like with Hyperion and the rest of the 'Cantos' (The Fall of, Endymion and The Rise of).
Simmons weaves such a rich and detailed universe and builds and develops his characters in such believable ways. Incorporation of the poetry of John Keats as a central facet (don't worry you DONT have to be a poetry fan) of the first two books and (to a lesser extend the last two) is a stroke of genius.

Finally, 'The Shrike' may just be THE most frighting sci-fi 'baddie' ever!
