5.0 out of 5 stars Great value, 1 Jan 2011
The item was exactly as described. Unfortunately despite having 6 plugs included, there wasn't one to fit the item I bought it for. I have tested it on another peice of equipment and it is working fine. This adapter is great value for money and only costs around the equivilant of 4 high quality batteries but lasts a lifetime.

As an aside are the people who are complaining about fusing and overheating problems using the adapter on equipment that is not 300mA rated as this could cause these faults?
Just asking and not accusing!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, 30 Oct 2010
The X-Fi was a doddle to install on Win7 64bit. Just followed the instructions in it was up and running all in about 10 mins. The annoying thing was when the automatic updates started it took nearly 2 hours to download them from creative(and I have a 50mb connection). After all that, the updates installed and away it went The sound from my laptop was transformed in to excellent audio quality going through a set of Creative gigaworks G550w speakers. This was until the speakers cut out. At this point i was calling the X-Fi all the names under the sun but after calming down and trying it on a mates PC and speakers realised that the fault was with my G550w kit.( Anyone with these speakers take note) This was reinforced on several forums on the web so the XFI was not to blame.
After testing the XFI the sound quality is excellent and crisp. 5.1 surround is easy to set up and the packaged software is easy to use.
The product is excellent but I wouldnt count too much on Creative support for any after care or plan on doing anything for at least 2 hours when updating the software after first setting up.
