5.0 out of 5 stars A bargain, 5 July 2015

Really pleased with these. I'd expected them to be naff, at the price, but bought them for use when gardening as I was fed up of catching the wire on my wired earplugs. The price is actually less than I paid for my wired ones, and they sound just as good to me. Lots of different do-dahs to get them to be the right fit for your ears, and I find them comfortable to wear, and they stay in my ears really well. Audiophiles would no doubt find issue with them, but for listening to podcasts and music whilst gardening they are an absolute bargain.

Fit nicely, and have little impact on the use of your fingers, unlike other bulkier gloves. Protection from spikes and thorns is obviously less than other thicker gloves, though.

3.0 out of 5 stars About as non-greasy as olive oil, but easy to apply and lasting protection, 5 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I guess you could call it "non greasy" if you consider there being a clear distinction between "greasy" and "oily", and so consider this product to be "non greasy, just very oily". Me, I'm not so sure it's a distinction worth making.

Pros:
- Easy to apply
- Long lasting protection
- highest UVA star rating

Cons:
- Greasy/oily
- Stains clothes yellow

To be fair, the first con applies pretty universally to all sun creams, and the second one seems to apply to most "all day" protection creams. As suncreams go, I'd recommend it above most.

Others have reported getting burnt whilst using this protection, despite applying correctly. I think it's most likely they didn't apply it correctly, or stayed in the sun to long, or during the middle of the day. Even with "all day" protection, the best advice is to reapply because a) most people miss areas on a single application, and b) most people don't use the recommended amount of suncream in a single application. Also, all day protection does not mean you can stay in the sun all day, it just means that the cream will provide it's stated level of protection for that time. It is not providing 100% protection though, so you still need to limit your sun exposure, and avoid the sun between 11 and 3 when you will be exposed to the most UV. SPF 30 means 1/30th of UVB radiation will be getting through to your skin still, if you burn easily, you can still burn in a day of full sun wearing SPF30. Also, if you've been in the water a long time, have bathed or showered, or towed yourself dry, you will likely have removed some of the protection, and will need to reapply.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Great devices for locating your keys from your phone or your phone from your keys. Also has many other uses, such as being alerted when your bags have arrived on the luggage carousel at an airport.

Slightly bigger than some of the alternatives that have come out, but not much bigger than many standard key rings.

Only works in range of bluetooth, and didn't work with older iDevices we had.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty advanced Lego making skills required, 6 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Pretty advanced Lego making skills required, and some say to lose pieces, but the end results are fantastic.

It should probably be noted that the 3 in 1 means, three different things can be built with the set (do you remember when you could make infinite things with a set of Lego?), but only one at a time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch before you see the US remake (then also watch that), 6 Jan. 2015

A fantastic and original comedy. The American remake is surprisingly good, especially for an American remake, but this original Australian version is darker, more subtle, more intelligent and funnier.

3.0 out of 5 stars already out of date, 5 Dec. 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I guess it's the biggest issue for programming books - trying to stay recent, and it's unfortunate for this book that it was released just half a year before the biggest set of changes to the iOS operating system.

The book will still provide you with a good grounding in iOS development, but, personally, I would hold out for a decent book on iOS 7 if I was in the market to buy a new book.

3.0 out of 5 stars mixed feelings, 5 Dec. 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This book does provide a fairly good introduction to CoffeeScript for developers new to the language, and should provide a reasonable grounding. However, I did find that much of the later parts of the book become too focused on particular frameworks, and the book may not be with considering unless you are also using, or considering using, those frameworks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Compact and functional, 5 Dec. 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These seem a great set of scales. I don't know how accurate the fat measurements are, but they seem to change in a consistent manner from day to day, so can be used fairly reliably for monitoring the changes to you fat levels.

They are very small, and I do wonder if some people may have issues balancing on them. My feet are fairly small (it's not true what they say) and even the overlap the end when standing on the scales. However, I think the small size is great, as it limits the space they take up.

It would be great if they tracked how your measurements had changed from day to day, but scales that do that (often with companion apps and/or websites) tend to cost a lot more.

The one thing I dislike is that there seems to be no way to switch users, or re-do your measurements, without switching the scales off and on again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid Kindle Edition, 15 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was bought a hardback copy of an earlier edition of this book as a birthday present when I was younger, and have treasured the book ever since, and it has travelled with me on many a holiday.

Due to budget airline luggage weight restrictions I decided to buy the Kindle edition for my latest holiday, and whilst having the rules for all these card games to hand was wonderful, the kindle conversion has been done appallingly badly, and for a £7.99 eBook, it is shockingly bad.

The biggest issues is that there are numerous cases where words runs into each other, with no spaces between them, or spaces in the wrong place. Here are just a few examples:

Location 249: "throwu pop portunities"

Location 387: "Includedarewhat mightbecalled children's games, but notinasepar-ate chapter"

Location 522: "andsosimpleastobeworth making more complicated. Mycontribution"

Location 787: "A defensivebidisonemadebyeitheropponentofthe opener. Thegeneralrequirement is a biddable suit"

Location 1050: "(4pp,52c)DevisedbyHubertPhillipsinthe1930s,thisunjustlyneglected"

Location 2065: "isthatinwhichplayersmakesimultaneousbidsbyholding"

Location 11017: "TheonlypossibleresponsetothisistoadaptGeorgeMallory'sanswer"

In addition to this issue, there are also several tables in the book, which are just impossible to follow in the kindle edition, they are so poorly laid out / formatted.

It's quite clear than not even a cursory glance has been made of this book by the publishers after converting to Kindle, which is amazing lazy and disrespectful to customers.
