5.0 out of 5 stars Preparing financial statements - everything you need to know, 7 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is a brilliant addition to the series and as a lecturer I would highly recommend it to all
accountancy students studying for A-levels, degrees and professional exams.
It starts with the proformas of financial statements and the basics of double entry bookkeeping and
takes students all the way through to deferred tax, pensions and financial instruments. It is suitable
for all students studying financial accounting and the sooner you buy it, the better!
Every topic is clearly explained and then illustrated by an example showing how to account for it in
the context of preparing financial statements from a trial balance - a key skill tested in exams.
The on-line resources are also great with section recap examples taking you through how to answer
exam standard questions step by step as well as mindmaps to help your revision.
It is perfect for those that need to brush up their knowledge if they have gained exemptions or had a
gap in their studies and will also prove beneficial in the work place as a quick reference guide.
As with all the books in Kaplan's Student's guide series it is written in a clear, simple way & is
wonderfully bright and colourful.

5.0 out of 5 stars An interesting man who lived in interesting times, 1 May 2013
A well written book about an interesting man who lived in interesting times. Barbara has clearly done her research, writes with authority and is to be congratulated. She brings Clendon's remarkable story to life, after all he was born in Kent, England and went on to marry a Maori, a sign the Treaty of Waitangi, and become the first US consul to New Zealand. The many photographs and illustrations are most welcome.

Great debut album. Fresh sounds. These boys are having fun and it comes across. Get down with trumpets will go down as a modern classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars this makes accounting interesting !, 15 July 2008
This review is from: Student Guide to IFRS (Paperback)
This book is written in a clear and imaginative way that will help anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of international accounting standards. Clare Finch understands how people's brains work and has written her book accordingly to help the reader remember the key principles of accounting. I have used this book and I recommend it to all my students - what ever accountancy exams they are studying. I really like the way that the book "talks" to you and explains the standards - and not just lists out the facts (though the correct definations are all there as well)
