4.0 out of 5 stars The Division bell?, 10 Dec. 2010
This review is from: Ummagumma (Audio CD)
Ive been a Floyd fan since 1977 when I first heard Animals. After discovering Animals I went back to listen to Wish you were here, Dark side, Meddle, Atom Heart Mother etc. Ummagumma represents a dividing line in my opinion between the older 60's style "kinks" vibe to the more Dark Side type material. The early Floyd music and post Ummagumma Floyd are for me like two different bands.
In short if you're expecting Dark side of the moon you will be disappointed. But you will experience and album that makes you realize that without an Ummmagumma there wouldn't have been a Dark Side. This is a highly original and different seminal rock album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ouch guy above is missing the point!!!!, 26 Jan. 2002
The point of this book is NOT (as the author clearly states in the introduction) to act as a guide book, but rather to act as a personal opinion and insights into the reality of moving to Thailand as an ex-pat. If you want a good guide book check out the Lonely Planet series.
As someone who has been considering this move for a while I found the book very open and honest and a very sobering account of what such a move entails.
I would like to congratulate Michael Ziesling on providing the reader with his personal insights into life in Thailand and his obvious respect for its wonderful people.
As someone who has been to Thailand several times I have to say his observations are right on the mark. The horror stories told of foolish investors and "love" are particularly pertinent.
This is a "must read" for anyone considering such a move. Again Well done Mr. Ziesling.

Okay so this is a grand claim but I thought this book was absolutely superb. Amazing characters and insights into life and attitudes. Youve got to read this book before the end of your life. Thank you Mr.Amis and well done!

1.0 out of 5 stars VERY DISSAPOINTING, 11 Mar. 2000
As someone who thinks Moon Safari was one of the best albums of the nineties, I can only express my deep dissapointment at the Virgin Suicides CD. Take my advice : save your money.

Quite simply the darkest, coolest album you're ever likely to wrap your ears around. Rap/Hiphop for those who don't llike either: wonderful and unmissable! Listen and be converted to music's future........
