Enjoyed reading this funny book recently on holiday. Well written and easy to read that kept me enthralled to the end.

A great buy for anyone who is into Neil Young, especially with Crazy Horse. More great live versions of classics, and I was particularly pleased to hear Sample and Hold in a live form, as this is one of the standouts of the under-rated Trans album.

The sound quality sometimes dips a bit but turn it up loud in your car and you won't be disappointed.

Now Neil is recording with the Horse again, dare we hope for a tour?

5.0 out of 5 stars Daylight - magic!, 11 Mar 2011

Was looking for a portable light source to take away to hotels. This prodct fits the bill perfectly. Not too heavy and a great source of daylight-corrected light. The twist feature is a massive bonus - many similar models do not have this and it enables a wide range of angles to be used.

Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars The master's secrets, 7 Mar 2010

Not secrets actually, as many of the techniques have been described in Steve's articles in Military Modelling and in his other books. Here they are all together in an immensly readable form, using no repeated text from previous sources, just some photos here and there. Do not think this book is solely aimed at modellers of US vehicles - if you have any interest in modelling tanks and military vehicles, buy this book as it is an absolute bargain and well worth adding to any reference collection. Now for the difficult bit - how to become as good as Steve Zaloga?

Not Neil, obviously, but the songs themsleves. Harvest Moon was a good album but always seemed a little polished (certainly to theis reviewer who is in the Crazy Horse camp when it comes to NY music).
These versions are more raw and reminiscent of Neil's later acoustic sets (e.g. 2008 first set) allowing the lyrics to come to the fore.

Whether this release will gain Neil any new fans I don't know but most older ones will be very happy with it. I have now played this several times and am not bored by it in the slightest.

New material for 2010 perhaps?

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Sensational !, 17 April 2009

This review is from: Live At The BBC (Audio CD)
This is a great release which captures SAHB at their best. I have all the vinyl albums from the 70's, some of which are better than others, but the one that started it all for me was Next in late 1973.
Being allowed to stay up and watch OGWT at the age of 13 was a revelation, with Alex singing Next in front of masked violinists. I was hooked ! That version is here, along with other BBC TV appearances (including the voice of Noel Edmonds introducing the band on TOTP in 1976).
The first CD is still the best though, as it includes loads of great tracks from the first two albums and a killer version of Sly's Dance To The Music.

I got to see the band in 1976 and they were everything I expected.

Buy this, turn it up loud and relive the great music! 5 stars.
