5.0 out of 5 stars No frills but does the job., 4 Dec. 2015

I can confirm that this case is a nice snug fit around the Canon G7X, neither too tight or loose to hinder putting the camera in or getting it out.

There's not much more to it that you can't see from the product photographs other than the fact that the case partially lips or hoods over the camera when it is inside the case. That's it, it's just a simple but neat neoprene case.

Nice and bright and a nice natural white colour too (no blue tint). I've used them for the interior lights of my car so cannot vouch for the anti canbus claims.

I previously used Fast Motion on my old Nokia E6 and N9 and generally liked it.

I purchased it for my Nokia X2 and found it had improved. I later decided to uninstall the invasive Amazon App store from my phone and I am now denied access to this and other applications I purchased through it. Absolutely disgraceful and borderline theft by Amazon. Software writers and developers should avoid this kind of arrangement.

An old classic ruined by in game purchases. Do not think for one minute that buying the paid for "premium" version removes in game purchases or the need for them in order to make significant progress because it doesn't.

I tried Townsmen on a 4.5inch device and found myself squinting at the screen, the game seems to be ideally suited to much larger tablet screens than a smartphone.

Just another game designed to progressively milk you of your cash.

You must install and run EA's virus like spyware "origin" in order to play this game, regardless of whether you actually play the game in online or offline mode, so you still have to be connected to the internet to sign in and lhave Origin allow Simcity to run... and allow EA to data mine your computer while you are at it. I despise this kind of control freakery and I am not prepared to accept or surrender to it. Origin and then SimCity uninstalled within a couple of hours of delivery. Be a slave to EA or save your money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work on Windows 8.1, 31 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Sadly this game does not run satisfactorily on my Windows 8.1 installation. Like everyone else I used to like Pharaoh at the time of it's original release and fancied a bit of nostalgia but the old software and latest (at the time of writing) version of Windows don't get on very well.

The 1024x768 maximum resolution doesn't look so good on a 1080 widescreen monitor. The game will not run properly in a window on my computer, just full screen. That I can put up with but the frequent freezing and crashing with the sound effects repeating like a scratched CD makes it unplayable, more so when the task manager (ctrl-alt-del) has trouble pulling the computer out of the crash too.

It's a shame but the software does not claim to be compatible with Windows 8, it was just a shot in the dark to see if it is.

I despise ad supported software that proclaims itself to be "free". It's nothing of the sort. I will happily pay for a software product free of intrusive and/or distracting adverts or other non upfront means of generating revenue.

I often think it's something of a gamble buying what are obviously very cheap mass produced products like this. Sometimes you end up with something that performs surprisingly well for it's price, sometimes you don't.

This time I lost that gamble. After several minutes of on and off winding up to pre-charge the first torch, it did work of a fashion and emitted enough light to be used as a key hole finder in the dark. The problem was the on/off switch needed to be wiggled to get the connection just right for the LEDs to light up brightly.

Torch number two barely worked at all even after several minutes of winding. So being that way inclined the screwdriver came out and I dismantled the second torch to discover that the tiny internal battery had leaked and corroded soldered contacts within... and that was straight out of the packet.

With something small and cheap like this it's not worth the hassle of returning them, I'll just stand the loss

Sony AKASF1 Action Mount without Waterproof Case for Camera

4.0 out of 5 stars Does it's job well, 18 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This mount is that essential piece of kit that best gets around the greatest (recurring) design flaw of the Sony action cameras, you can't mount the camera by itself if you don't need or want to use the waterproof case.

For that reason I believe it's something of an after thought by Sony to the realisation that they made a mistake on with the camera design and as such should be supplied in the box with the camera but it obviously isn't.

The mount isn't a substantial piece of kit, it's light and fairly unobtrusive once clasped around the camera, doesn't add significant bulk and will no doubt provide a little more protection to the camera it wraps around in a skeleton fashion. There are three large gaps or holes in the case once fitted, one at each side and one on the bottom. A second piece containing a standard tripod screw hole can then be clipped into either of the three gaps, one of which will obviously end up covering the LCD display... and buttons if your camera has them. The skeleton case isn't directional, it can be placed around the camera either way around. The piece containing the tripod screw hole will stay clipped into the side hole until you purposefully release it but it will separate from the skeleton case as soon as you unclasp it from around the camera (using the big yellow sliding lock on top). A third right angled piece is supplied which also contains a standard tripod screw hole for added versatility and mounting position options.

So overall this simple skeleton case does it's job very well, I consider it almost essential.

2.0 out of 5 stars Helmet band NOT head band!, 18 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The most obvious first impression I formed when opening up and experimenting with my Sony "headband" for the first time was that it is really a motorcycle (or similar) helmet mounting band and far from ideal for actually strapping a Sony action camera to the side of your head, it is simply far too big and clunky to do so in a comforatable and relatively compact manner. As such it rapidly became redundant for me, since using the strap to mount the camera around a helmet was not the intended purpose.

If you are already wearing something as relatively bulky as a motorcycle helmet the extra protrusion of this strap and inparticular it's mounting apparatus is probably not going to be much of a concern which is just as well because the set up is far from slimline once all the various attachment plates and angle adjusters are connected up with the camera sitting on the end of it all. The strap is 50mm wide, again fine on a helmet but a little bit excessive if you wanted to slip it around your bare head.

That aside the standard of construction and materials is good and solid. The product at least feels like a good quality Sony accessory.
