This CD is a soundtrack of the film and as such offers decent value for money. There are twenty-one tracks taking you through the film and covering the major highs and lows.

This is a catchy film with some nice ideas, inventive photography and a proper story. The idea that reality is not to be taken for granted is interesting and the plot has some unexpected twists and turns. However there are some confusing, possibly inconsistent elements thrown up and we never really get behind Harry's motive for helping Matt. The leads are excellent in terms of their roles but there is no on screen chemistry in fact the relationship between them feels 'flat'.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not romantic or a comedy!, 1 May 2012

After i watched this one evening on DVD i had to follow it with a 'real' comedy to cheer myself up! This is not a comedy, neither is it romantic. There is no tangible chemistry between the leads, the film tries to be too 'clever' too 'grown up'. The gags are forced and the result feels somehow empty. And that is a shame because the leads are rather good. I would not recommend watching this if you need 'cheering up'.

Hi. At the time of writing this album is only available as a download. Is that a problem? Only that there is space reserved in my collection of CD's! This is a suprisingly enjoyable 'sensible' film and the enjoyment comes at least in part to the excellent score. The tracks echo the experiences of the tourists on the boat - start out simply sitting back and soaking up the experience but then when all goes awry and then from bad to worse the tracks mirror the building sense of doom.

I have at the moment downloaded just a few of the more individual tracks and am enjoying those. Not sensational by any means but a thoughtful pleaseant journey nonetheless. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Layers that build. Compelling & addictive..., 28 Sep 2011

This is an excellent album to accompany an excellent film. The first time or two i saw the film i felt the score was 'repetitive' and dull. By the third viewing i was getting hooked, and by the fifth i had decided to buy the album...I have not a similar response to a soundtrack since the Lord of the Rings trilogy was released.

There is a good assortment of music on this album that touches base with all the key parts of the film. Far from 'repetitive'the tracks really relate well to the continual changes in the film. I particularly enjoy track 9 that brings with it memories of 'On her majesty's secret service' with George Lazenby. Excellent & thoroughly entertaining.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addictive, endearing & disturbing adventure!, 27 Sep 2011

First i realise this is adding to the already hundreds of reviews, but hey. If the mark of a great film is one you go back and watch over and over again and still come away with something new each time then this is a great film.

There is so much to think about, so much to enjoy, so much to question. The film satisfies on so many levels. I love that i can see influences from other great films such as the better James Bond films, Mission Impossible and The Matrix.

The first time i watched it i found the score repetitive and boring. By the fourth watch i was thoroughly enjoying the way it adds and builds with the story. By the sixth i had bought the score! (It is that kind of film).

The performances are first rate, the story pulls you in, the action is superb and the film builds beautifully from start to finish. Terrific.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing overall, 24 Aug 2011

On the face of it there is alot to like with this film (on DVD). It has a decent cast, the DVD picture transfer is top-notch and the soundtrack is rather enjoyable too (yes i have the CD). Oh, and as a fan of Carrie Anne-Moss that is a plus for me too.

However the downside is a story that is pure candyfloss! There are more holes than a fishing net. The special effects are good in bits, silly in others and the dialogue is poor while the characters are one-dimensional (with the exception of Ms Moss). Overall not one to get excited about.

This film has much to commend it. The casting and acting are top notch, likewise the costumes and scenery - stunning landscapes! The fight sequences are excellent - on a par with gladiator!

The soundtrack is also another plus point (and available on CD) and it adds impact and atmosphere in equal measure.

Alas the story that starts out so well suddenly loses its way about two-thirds of the way through, contrived presumably to set up for the finish. Poo. Up to this point the film is very enjoyable and worth a recommendation. However what should have been a very enjoyable film overall ends up being only slightly better than ok. Crying shame about that ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty darn tootin'..., 25 Mar 2011

In a nutshell...i have to admit i am really impressed and already quite smitten with this monitor! Why? I use it for playing DVD's, playing my collection of games (total war, age of empires, company of heroes etc...) and browsing the net. It does all of these things brilliantly!

The colours, contrast, sharpness and vibrancy of the screen mean that i play my DVD's on this almost exclusively which means that the HD-ready plasma TV downstairs is now largely redundant. DVD quality is simply excellent (and probably even better with blu ray but i am sticking with DVD). Rome TW and Rise of Nations can be played on full 1900 x 1200 resolution and look fabulous for it!

I think by now you can tell how enthusiastic i am about this product - so what is the catch? Ahhhh...well the viewing angles are miserable so this is not for sharing your viewing with, also the manual and instructions are pathetic and a total joke (just as well the screen looks amazing from the off because i do not think i could adjust it if i wanted to) and last the problem of scrolling text exists too. Luckily for me none of these criticisms affect my experiences with this monitor, hence i have given it 5 stars.

Thank you and goodnight...

5.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected improvements!, 10 Jan 2011
Having bought some high quality leads before that were recommended by What Hi-Fi (stereo interconnects, HDMI, TV aerial to name but three) and seen and heard the improvements for myself i was actually looking forward to trying one of these out. In fact i bought two -one for the TV and DVD player etc and the other for the hi fi. My hi fi consists of Roksan Kandy separates with a project record player and headphone box and B&W speakers. Therefor not very expensive but decent quality kit. The improvements to the TV reception and picture are modest - edge definition is definately improved which makes the picture seem a little sharper. Consequently it is easier on the eye and i can sit a little closer to it which i like.

With the hi fi (and particularly listening through grado sr60's and the headphone box) the improvement is fantastic! Instruments are clearer and better defined; extra background music has been revealed; the leading and trailing edge of notes is improved; a deeper and more revealing sound stage. I was hoping for an improvement but the amount of improvement with my system has been far beyond what i would have hoped for for such a modest outlay. All of my hifi components now sound 50 to 100 more expensive!

The proof is in the pudding as the saying goes. I liked the improvements so much i have bought another for my home computer. Here the gains have matched the gains to the TV - the picture has a little extra sharpness together with brighter colours and the sound is noticeably clearer and more revealing.
