5.0 out of 5 stars CLEANER AIR AVAILABLE, 19 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought one hesitantly.....price was almost too goodish for truth. Came in short order, easy to set up (just plug it in) and......it works great! I have a smallish flat, but after a half hour on lowest mode (turbo available) I could literally smell the difference in better air quality. I hauled off and bought a second one for another room. No bits need replacing. Pull out the gizmo with the handle on the top and dry-wipe it. Couldn't be more pleased with it.

The Antidote: Happiness for People Who Can't Stand Positive Thinking

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT Defense Against Pathological 'Beamers', 17 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
P-Thinking is fine - in it's place. Fixed adherence to 'positivity' is unrealistic. Proof: All the criminal bankers engaged in fiscal P-thinking and look where THAT got the economy. Maintaining a cheerful attitude is generally a good survival practice, but making P-thinking onto a veritable religion is frankly delusional considering all that ails the world. Give this book to P-thinkers in your life (presuming they really think at all) and perhaps they will come down somewhat from their euphoric fantasies. If not, leave them to their incorrigible beaming and get on with your life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gospels and Book of Acts, 9 Nov 2011
This video is siimply a narrative reading of the Gospels and Book of Acts. There is no commentary, nor are there dramatisations of the biblical texts. The presenter has a pleasant voice, and the texts are clearly shown for viewers to read along. I am very pleased with it. It is a very restful presentation of sacred literature. It would be a great aid for students of the Bible or those who find inter-faith studies interesting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stonehenge Rediscovered, 9 Nov 2011
There was no new information offered on Stonehenge, but the video gave a good nutshell synopsis of available data. A pleasant viewing experience with friends or family. Good to whet the appetite of budding archaeologist or historical researchers of any age.

4.0 out of 5 stars Robin Hood - Outlawed Hero, 9 Nov 2011
I cannot review it personally...it was bought as a gift for someone fascinated by 'Bobs' Hood. However, the friend, spouse, and teen offspring waxed lyrical in their thanks and appreciation. Since this family is not easy to impress when it comes to video fare, I can only assume this one was good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Little Women Revisited, 29 Sep 2011
This review is from: Little Women [DVD] [2000] (DVD)
A remake of Alcott's enduring classic, it is not(naturally) entirely true to the story, but is eminently watchable for all that. If you are one of those literary 'purists', believing the book is always better, you're right in this case. The subtle connotations of relationships cannot be explored adequately in a mere 1 hour and 54 minutes, but this rendition gives a respectable and enjoyable portrayal of the March sisters and their devoted mum. Set during the time of the American Civil War, it chronicles the trials and joys of adolescent girls entering womanhood in a 'single-parent' household. There is sibling rivalry, tears and squabbles, but love, loyalty and humour, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars More About Ancient Treasures, 31 Aug 2011
Okay, so there's been a lot of programs lately about Ancient this and Ancient that. There's nothing new here, but it gives a good synopsis of the famed Seven Wonders -- Pyramids, Gardens of Babylon, Statue of Zeus, Temple of Artemis, Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, the unforgotten Colossus of Rhodes and the Pharos Lighthouse. Only the Pyramids remain, but one can 'see' the others with the mind's eye when watching this. The biggest wonder is wondering how they ever managed to build such amazing creations! This is a good DVD for amateur historians of all ages, or those who regard history as great entertainment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Romans, Romans Everywhere, 31 Aug 2011
This is a good presentation about the Men in Red as they occupied North Africa. Not bad, as it goes. Not a lot new if you're well-up on things Roman, but gives a good overview for amateur historians, students, and anyone who finds ancient Roman achievements noteworthy.

4.0 out of 5 stars One For All Sinners (Everybody), 31 Aug 2011
This review is from: Seven Deadly Sins [DVD] (DVD)
A good presentation of the famous (or notorious) Seven Deadly Sins as envisaged from the Dark Ages until recent times. Check out the spiritual significance of Greed, Anger, Sloth, Gluttony, Envy, Pride and the perennially popular Lust. These concepts were first conceived to keep monks in order, but ultimately were used as a guide for the faithful. If you find history entertaining, this is a good one. Much better than soaps or so-called 'reality' shows.....and you learn something useful at the same time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Useful Dietary Supplement, 27 July 2011
If you use 'Natural' healing remedies to cure what ails you, this is a good product and brand. A little online research will help you determine if it is a good choice for you. Swanson is my preferred brand, and the price was good value. As ever, check with your GP before using any supplements, particularly if you have a pre-existing condition
