5.0 out of 5 stars Classic, 2 May 2016
Sacha is a cracking track from Hank..Taken from his 69 solo debut album,it was released as a single with huge success in Australia.
Part accoustic, part electric guitar this is one mighty fine instrumental, still often performed live by Hank on tour.
Sunday For Seven Days is a real raunchy, feisty and aggressive track with fabulous orchestral support. The same applies to Goodnight Dick. These 2 tracks along with Wahine featiured on the 77 EMI compilation album RARITIES..Wèll worth 15 mins of your time, and a nice slice or rock orientated Marvin.

Let Me Be The One France
Let Me Be The One France

4.0 out of 5 stars Euro entry...great song, 29 April 2016
This review is from: Let Me Be The One France (Vinyl)
A great track and Eurovision entry from The Shads.
Along with Don't Make My Baby Blue this was the boys best vocal chart hit and features top vocals from Bruce, ably supported by Marvin and Farrar. After a period of 5 years and 1 Shads album,Curly Leads(superb by the way) this was what ultimately lead to the reformed Shadows.
Before Curly Leads the boys and a dalliance with 3 marvelous vocal albums under the name of Marvin Welch and Farrar and i would urge you to buy these great albums to hear Marvin and Welch as like never before and as far removed from any Shadows sound as you could possibly get.

In Cold Blood (A True Account of a Multiple Murder and Its Consequences)
In Cold Blood (A True Account of a Multiple Murder and Its Consequences)
by Truman Capote
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic non fiction book, 29 April 2016
A master class in crime non fiction.
Written in 1965 this book is a fantastic read and grips from the get go.A story that gradually unfolds before your eyes and just does not let up.
It isn't very often that the hype tagged to a book delivers the goods.THIS is the exception and i would heartily recommend to anyone interested in true crime.

5.0 out of 5 stars The charts call...again, 29 April 2016
This is the single which returned The Shadows to the singles charts, followed by a bevy of other top twenty hits- Cavatina,Riders In The Sky and a string of (no pun intended) hit albums.Although incl audience applause the track was actually a studio recording given a live sounding treatment in the studio. The applause utilised was culled from the Cliff/Shads live album / concert Thank You Very Much.Hank was on holiday at the time and Bruce and Brian tampered with the recording in the studio. The FULL untouched version is available on the Abbey Road compilation
Tracks 3 and 4 on this single are the follow up single Cavatina (Theme From The Deer Hunter) and ITS b side Bermuda Triangle, again originally on the Tasty album.
These tracks are masterfully remastered and sound gorgeous. The cd itself is a replica of the vinyl with the famous EMI paper centre.
cd.The b side to the original single was the fabulous Montezuma,s Revenge(taken from Tasty album).

Tracks 3 and 4 on this single are the follow up single Cavatina(Theme From The Deer Hunter

4.0 out of 5 stars At last, 26 April 2016
Rare as hens teeth to get your hands on the original 45 so to have this reiisue is an absolute, feat Elton John or as we should say on this release,Reg Dwight.
Come Back Baby is a derivative ballad but the flip side Times Are Getting Tougher Than Tough is a great slice of British blues al la John Mayall.
Really nice to now have this on vinyl as before this i just owned a bootleg copy.A great release in the history of Elton John.

5.0 out of 5 stars A train i couldn't wait to catch!!, 20 April 2016
This review is from: Moseley Shoals [VINYL] (Vinyl)
Obviously a cracking album from OCS,not a dud tra k.
My comments are on this Anniversary vinyl reissue.
I always have reservations about coloured vinyl pressings, but i have to say this limited edition RED vinyl, while looking fabulous, sounds awesome to boot.
Been wanting this on vinyl for quite some time but and reluctant to pay in excess of £100 for a 1st pressing.Im sure this release will prove very very popular for those that appreciate the sound that only vinyl can give and a band at the top of there game.I saw these guys when they supported Oasis in Loch Lomond touring Morning Glory and was blown away.Great gig, awesome album.Buy it!!

Be aware that this reissue just a reissue of the original 12 inch 3 track single and NOT THE COMPLETE THOM BELL SESSIONS 6 track album.
Great though this single IS the album would have been a more appropriate Elton reissue.

5.0 out of 5 stars This ain't no wreck, 16 April 2016
One of my much sort after vinyl releases.
This RSD release(5000) only is an essential 3 180gm remastered release which features the classic album plus bonus material/outtakes which featured on the cd deluxe edition.Truly this album has never sounded better than here on the black stuff.Grab it whike you can because the original vinyl release is very rare and im sure that this set will shoot up in price from demand once its gone.A stunningly produced, recorded and performed album and certainly Emmylou,s finest moment along with Red Dirt Girl.
Awesome!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of....sorta, 7 April 2016

A superb collection of some of the best tracks from the 2 Marvin Welch and Farrar albums and the Marvin and Farrar album.
The cd A Thousand Conversations has more to offer but alas not available on vinyl,so this See For Miles release is a welcome addition on vinyl as a sort of best of,even though i have all the albums on vinyl anyway. The good thing is that this collection has the only solo single from Bruce Welch and the single only MWF track Marmaduke which i quite hard to find on the old 45rpm,so kudo,s to SFM for including these songs on this excellent package.

5.0 out of 5 stars WELCOME!!!!!, 31 Mar. 2016
You have to be of a certain age to appreciate how big FGH were in the 80,s.They were fresh and dangerous compared to the pop friendly Durans,Ballet,s etc.I remember the merchandise was ENORMOUS for this band, the biggest buzz was of ofcourse regarding FGH was the 12 inch single with all the accompanying mixes....phenomenal.
This collection has all the hits incl.the absolutely stonking version of Springsteen,s Born To Run( nearly trumping the original).
Ofcourse a lot of the crecit has to go to Trevor Horn who produced all this stuff. Its a mark of greatness when these tracks still sound just as
good today. The album Welcome To The Pleasuredome is a corker, with only a couple of duds,so i would recomend giving that gem a go.If not, this collection should suffice.Warriors of The Wasteland is superb..
A few alt.mixes would have made this album great(on cd),limited naturally on vinyl because of space.
