4.0 out of 5 stars Core text - very useful, 28 July 2011
It's definitely more interesting and dare I say fun revising for the Part 2 written than it is for the Part 1. This book is one of the most widely used texts for the Part 2 and is definitely worth the time. However, the questions are not in the BOF format which makes it a little difficult at times to find the 'take home message'. But the questions do get you thinking and you realise that even though we're now almost conditioned to find the right answer amongst the five options (and at times it might still be like finding a needle in a haystack), it's gratifying to find you know the answer if you think hard enough and logically. It encourages you to realise that perhaps you're not totally hopeless when starting out with revision.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good aid to quick revision when tight for time, 28 July 2011
Good range of questions especially as in the new format of the exam. Also has a lot of those ambigious questions that always leaves the candidate dangling between two options. My greatest weakness has always been when all the answers are right but you have to pick the one that's 'most right'. This has a few of them as well. Once I'd gone through all the questions, I found it particularly useful before the exam just to re-read the answer section again as it has a lot of memorable points and bitesize revision material.

The Black Jewels Trilogy
The Black Jewels Trilogy
by Anne Bishop
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Deliciously good, 28 July 2011
A seriously good fantasy world with dangerous enemies and even more dangerous heros. Took a while to get into mainly as the author puts out all the different characters and all the threads at the beginning and weaves them together throughout the course of the book until it makes sense. The follow up books about other characters are good but not the same as this trilogy. I bought it over 7 years ago and re-read it every year. I wish I had my own Daemon!

Fringe Season 1 and 2 [DVD]
Fringe Season 1 and 2 [DVD]
Dvd ~ Anna Torv

5.0 out of 5 stars Seriously good, 28 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Fringe Season 1 and 2 [DVD] (DVD)
A mash-up of a conspiracy theory worthy of 24, special powers of Heros, mad diagnostic techniques of House and a lot of post-humous deductions leading to case solving reminiscient of Bones. If you like all of the above, you really can't go wrong with this.

5.0 out of 5 stars For history and mystery, a must read, 28 July 2011
This review is from: To Save a People (Hardcover)
The most remarkable thing about this story is a young, respectable, reasonably wealthy man wanted to do something about the horrific persecution Jews were facing in Europe and he did it. He had no reason to do so, no social or political connections to want to do so, he wasn't defending family or friends. It was his moral duty. His tireless and consistent efforts in Budapest through whatever means necessary and at times even rubbing shoulders with the enemy. But unlike Oskar Schindler, Wallenberg made no secret of the fact that he was there to protect Jews and save as many as he could. Despite saving thousands of Jews, Wallenberg never reaped the rewards of his humanitarian work. He was arrested the day the war was declared over and never found. A true mystery as there is evidence to suggest that despite the Soviet army declaring that he was shot dead, he was alive and imprisoned in the Russion gulags somewhere. We are coming to a time now when there are so few veterans left and their memories are truly becoming a part of history. I feel that by reading this book, we are keeping alive the memory of people who did amazing things and should be remembered.

Schindler's Ark
Schindler's Ark
by Thomas Keneally
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.49

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable, 28 July 2011
This review is from: Schindler's Ark (Paperback)
The film actually inspired me to read more about WW2, the atrocities and the Holocaust. This is by far one of the best books I have read, fiction or non-fiction. Oskar Schindler has been depicted as a enterprising, womanising, alcohol enthusiast with morals, a sense of justice and a believer in equality despite the fascist Nazi environment he is a part of. He may have started out to make money from a war, but somewhere along the line he began to put to put his feelings into actions and was involved in covert missions to save Jews. There could not be a better tribute to a truly great man.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth it, 28 July 2011
In a day and age when there are many international issues beseiging us on a daily basis to the point where we have become immune, this is the legacy of a man who made history. It saddens, angers and elates but sooner or later the frustrations we feel alongside Mandela in this epic leads to victory. I feel honoured to have lived through a pivotal moment in history and now to understand it from Mandela's perspective is awe-inspiring.

Black Leather Flip Case Cover With Magnetic Close For Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 With Screen Protector Film
Black Leather Flip Case Cover With Magnetic Close For Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 With Screen Protector Film

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than I expected, 28 July 2011
For the price, definitely worth it. Four stars only because I only received one screen protector with it. Looked through other reviews and found some people had received up to three. Slight discrepancy with who receives what I feel. One other thing, if playing a lot of games on the phone, would be best to remove from the case as it overheats and the touchscreen becomes extremely sluggish.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quick revision, 28 July 2011
Good for quick revision and to fit in between on calls, whilst commuting, etc. Not the most detailed or challenging book. Would have to be used in conjuction with a lot of other textbooks and on the whole could probably be omitted.

Photographic Interpretation Questions: MRCP Part 2 (MRCP Study Guides)
Photographic Interpretation Questions: MRCP Part 2 (MRCP Study Guides)
by Huw Beynon
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, 28 July 2011
An absolute must have. Have since recommended it to others taking the Part 2 written as well as PACES. For the written helps with the photographic slide questions especially dermatology. Bits of it are pretty old school though and certainly not stuff that has come up in clinical practice but interesting to know anyway. So when you're sick of reading Sharma, this is good for a quick flick and recognition revision.
