5.0 out of 5 stars Soooooo Cool, 4 Nov 2011
This review is from: Gangsta Granny (Kindle Edition)
David Walliams' books are a hit in our household - he writes so well and the stories are so original; what an amazing idea to transform a boring stay at Gran's house in to a crazy adventure as young Ben's Gran is revealed to be far from a stereotype old lady but used to be an international jewel thief, and now she want to steal the Crown Jewels and needs her Grandson's help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such A Touching Book, 4 Nov 2011
This review is from: Sleepovers (Kindle Edition)
More great VFM from Kindle with a wonderful tale by master story teller Jacqueline Wilson tackling the subject (very sensitively) of having a disabled sibling against the backdrop of the oh so cool modern trend for Sleepovers.

This is a funky sassy album and JJ has a great voice, but think it is a little overcooked at times as the girl tries to out-do Beyonce.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sorry Cheryl, 13 April 2011
This review is from: Messy Little Raindrops (Audio CD)
I liked her 1st alum but, `Promise This' aside, this is quite a dud album. The songs are not strong and far too much voice equalizer thingy (or whatever is called). Disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars So, So Good, 17 Mar 2011
I read this lovely festive book from cover to cover as soon as it arrived. It is delightful and the writing is a pure joy, full of English wit. Holly Brown is a brillaint character and her relationship with Jude deevelops at just the right pace as the joy of Christmas takes over, despite their initial resistance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy Reading, 26 Jan 2011
This review is from: My Single Friend (Paperback)
A very light and breezy book that sees Lucy Tyler takes her man to task and give him a serious makeover. Her creation is one hot dude. Such an easy book to read and some really funny(laugh out loud)scenes with lovely characters. Nice simple chick lit that hits the spot and with an unexpected twist at the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars A bit of Summer in a harsh Winter, 8 Dec 2010
This review is from: A Summer Fling (Paperback)
After the chill of Lapland in It's Cold Outside, and with the very cold winter weather, it was nice to warm up with A Summer fling. This book is ever so well written covering the highs and lows of the lives of five very different woman working in the same department. The catalyst, and best character, is new boss Christie who inspires a bond of friendship with Anna (devastated that her fiancé has run off with a younger woman), Grace (trapped in a loveless marriage), Dawn (insecure and engaged to a love rat) & Raychel (the youngest and supposedly in a cosy happy marriage). As a reader you become completely engaged in the stories of all the women and cry and laugh in equal measure. A large overall cast of characters (just like It's Cold Outside) but never too busy - will doubtless read again in the summer but it has warmed my heart on these long dark & cold winter evenings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strictly Great, 13 Oct 2010
This review is from: Living la Vida Loca (Paperback)
Living la Vida Loca is a nice chick lit tale filled with romance as best friends Carmen and Beth go on an incredible journey, taking them from a mundane life in London to 3 wonderful locations around the globe courtesy of a Dance Reality show (there's a Tango in Argentina, a Paso-Doble in Spain and a Salsa in Havana). Beth should not really be in the show as she already knows how to dance, but she pulls off the `amateur' act. Some lovely get-away-from-it -all writing that is oh so cosy, but also it hits on the grim theme of abusive relationships (from which Carmen is escaping). It is very nicely paced and really made me laugh and dream in equal measure; the perfect partner to read with the new Strictly series just started.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Things Come in 3's, 28 Sep 2010
This review is from: I Heart Paris (Paperback)
The third book in the series from Lindsey Kelk and although not as fab as the others, I did once again melt into the story as I followed Angela's new life in Paris ( it was just like being there). It starts where I Heart Hollywood left off, with Angela and Alex all loved up, and all the insight into relationships is spot-on once again. Love the clumsiness of Angela (can soooooo identify). Very fluffy read although did become a little predictable in places.

Exuberant, infectious and downright class. This girl can move and sing with the best of them and her energy take complete control of this album and stamps it with pure diva class. Hi-energy songs with the perfect singer to deliver `em. Love this girl.
