5.0 out of 5 stars Why the bad reviews?, 22 Feb. 2015

This film ain't half bad, so I don't understand the bad reviews.
It's different and the characters are good and Sean Bean is excellent as usual.

Episode one and that's it, I'm hooked.
Dark, gritty, well paced and what looks like will be a continuous good plot.
Add to that fine acting and believable characters.

What's not to like?

This is a great film and who ever decided not to endorse parts 2 & 3 and more made a bad mistakes!!
It's what the expendables should have, but couldn't even come close.
Nevermind life is full of other people's bad decision.
Why wasn't this film promoted more or better?

Note to producers, spend some money on advertising and promotional stuff and your money would have been returned ten fold!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars C'mon, take a chance, 4 Feb. 2015

Having seen loads of zombie films before my expectations were a little jaded, but I thought "take a chance Johnny, it could be quite good" and guess what, it's very good.

I wouldn't say it's a typical slow walking brainless zombies type of film and for this fact alone kept me interested in the film despite me being hungry and wanting something to eat. Had my attention from start to finish.

So, take a chance.......

Not what you'd expect especially if you're expecting Taken .
Yes it has its fair share of action, but it's also got a reasonable plot and fine acting.

Okay, lots of people who watched this will be P.K. Dick fans and for those who have never read any of his books won't know how full of twist and turns his stories can be full of and also that a few brain cells may have to be used.
This series has the potential of being one of the greats!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You Amazon for keeping this excellent series alive!!, 12 Jan. 2015

Never having heard of Ripper Street previously and not having read any reviews regarding this series I thought to myself Ohhhh let me watch a couple of episodes and see their take on Jack The Ripper?

No Jack here, but what I found was a series that far outshone anything I ever expected.
From the acting, the characters, the stage pieces and plot development were quite simply superb, to say the least.

Being a life long resident of the East End one does get a feel for sets and of how in an ever changing city such as London how Whitechapel must have once been and believe it or not many of the old Whitechapel still exist.

So, next time I walk the streets of the now more modern Whitechapel, I shall not failed to imagine how it once was thanks to Ripper Street.
