My CD player stopped working in my car, so I got this to link to my iPhone. It sits in the shelf/holder in the driver seat door and works beautifully. It charges through a mini USB slot, and I'm really happy with it. The sound is great to my ears at least.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fits 32" LG TV, needed to but extra screws, 16 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this for a 32 inch LG TV, as (at the time) it was advertised to fit between 32 and 60 inch sets. When it arrived the box stated it was for 37 - 70 inch TV sets, but thought I'd try it anyway as some of the previous reviewers said they'd used it for a 32 inch TV. The smallest screws included are M5, which are too big for the TV I have, so got some M4 screws which fitted perfectly. I also got some metal plasterboard Rawl plugs, as I'm always a bit concerned about the type that came with it (just the plain plastic ones).

One of the side bars covers some of the input connections, so it may need to be cut depending on what you do want to connect. I've got two HDMI and one component cable connected, without any bother, but this is something to be aware of.

Other than these complaints, the bracket is great, very easy to fit, is very secure, and can't be seen once mounted. You'll also probably need a long Philips-head screwdriver to tighten the final pair of screws.

The tilting function is a good addition, and it all lies reasonably close to the wall when done. I'd buy again if I needed another one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compatible with Acer Aspire V3-571G, 19 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased a new laptop, the Acer Aspire V3-571G, and swapped the hard drive for a solid state drive, which left me with a very fast machine, but with little storage space, a spare 500GB hard drive, and a DVD drive that I rarely use. So I purchased this kit, which contains a caddy that enables you to replace the optical drive of a laptop with a standard 2.5 inch hard drive, and a second caddy that allows you to use the DVD drive you take out of the laptop as a USB drive.

All together, it took about 5 mins to install - there are three screws on the rear of the laptop - remove these and you can (gently) pull out the DVD drive from the Acer. Insert the hard drive into the caddy, and push it in to the laptop. The only thing is that the caddy only requires two screws to secure, so there'll be a vacant screw hole on the rear of the laptop post-installation.

Everything is running smoothly - the only issue was that I needed to initialise the fresh hard drive, which is easily done - I used a free partition software from Easus, Easus Partition Magic, and was up and running in 5 mins.

Great buy, and I now have a 64 GB OS hard drive and 500 GB storage all on a laptop, alongside a USB DVD drive if I need to read from a disk. Highly recommended so far.

In case you're wondering, the face plate from the Acer is easily detachable from the DVD drive (two clips - be gentle, it's only plastic!) and can be placed on the caddy, so the laptop looks identical to as it did with the DVD drive. There is a green LED from the caddy that is constantly on, in case that bothers anyone. Also, there was no screwdriver supplied with my kit - surprising since they always seem to be supplied with caddies, but something to be aware of - a small Philips head screwdriver from an old caddy set did the trick.

(Specifically for the Acer Aspire - when you remove the DVD drive from the laptop, there's a small silver piece attached to the back of the drive with two screws, I had to remove this to get the drive into the DVD caddy.)

PS - Tried removing the caddy and putting the DVD drive back in, just to see if it could be done easily, and it's as easy as the initial install.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job..., 20 Feb. 2013

The micro USB connectors on the WD Passport hard-drives are a little fussy about the cables you use - I lost mine but thought there'd be no problem in getting a replacement... Alas, five micro USB cables tested later and none of them offered a good connection with the hard-drive. It appears the connection is very slightly longer on the official cables to compensate for the hard-drive casing the passport drives use.

Anyway, the cable I received was exactly as described; it is 48 cm (measured it, just to make sure) and has the WD logo molded in at the connector ends - and I've just tested it and it connects and transfers data as the original cable did.

Once upon a time in the toy factory there was a nerdy potato. He was bitten by a radioactive toy spider, and turned into Spider-Spud.

What more do you need to know? Get it now. And get Darth Tater and have a face-off.

[Tip: Tie a white shoe-lace to Spider-Spud and suspend him from the ceiling. It's a wonderful conversation starter.]

5.0 out of 5 stars Best album ever?, 22 April 2008
This review is from: Bat Out Of Hell (Audio CD)
Definitely one of the best albums, anyway - Steinman's songs are superb, ideally capturing classical rock 'n' roll (or Wagnerian Rock, as he calls it himself). Meat never sounded better, and the instumentation is spot on.

Rock perfection.

By the way, those of you who call it overblown and pompous - it's SUPPOSED to be overblown and pompous, if you don't get that, you're missing the point.

Check out the sequels, too.

Fats Domino - Blueberry Hill [DVD] [Region 1] [NTSC]
Fats Domino - Blueberry Hill [DVD] [Region 1] [NTSC]
Dvd ~ Fats Domino

4.0 out of 5 stars Fats is fabulous, but the DVD is merely OK, 20 Oct. 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The DVD captures a single concert and Fats is on top form, he really is a living legend. The concert's location is not mentioned and there's no date, but it appears to have been filmed in the mid-80's/early-90's. It's about 49 minutes long, and covers seventeen tracks.

The only problem is with the quality of the DVD - it's really just a transfer of an old VHS videotape. Having said that, the audio is good, with a nice balance between Fats' voice and the music.

The video also (very) occasionally cuts from the live performance to a montage of pictures of Fats throughout the years, which is a bit distracting, as it's sometimes mid-way through a song, but as the audio keeps playing, it's not too enjoyment-destroying.

There are also four bonus tracks which sees Fats share the stage with Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ronnie Wood.

So, in summary, an OK DVD of a great performance by a living legend. Any fan of Fats Domnio will love it, but just be prepared for a substandard DVD.

Track Listing:
01 I'm Walking
02 Blueberry Hill
03 My Blue Heaven
04 Blue Monday
05 Hello Josephine
06 I Want To Walk You Home
07 I'm Ready
08 Oh Whee
09 Walking To New Orleans
10 Shake, Rattle & Roll
11 I'm Gonna Be A Wheel Someday
12 Ain't That A Shame
13 I Hear You Knocking
14 My Blue Heaven (Instrumental)
15 Your Cheatin' Heart
16 When The Saints Go Marching In
17 Sentimental Journey

Bonus Tracks:
01 Lewis Boogie
02 Jambalaya (On The Bayou)
03 Swanee River Rock
04 Lousiana Boogie

The song titles appear on-screen just as each song starts, which would be nice if they could be turned off, as many fans will recognise the introductions, but they're burned onto the film, so can't be turned off. Not a major thing, but they annoy me!

There's also scrolling text biographies of Fats Domino, Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis included as a bonus, which is a nice feature, but the yellow text makes it look like the intro to a Star Wars movie.

PS - If you're a big fan of Fats Domino, check out the Walking to New Orleans CD collection which contains 100 tracks - it's excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great end to a great trilogy, 29 Sept. 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
An excellent summer blockbuster - the general feel of the film is identical to the first two, which when coupled with the original cast returning, really makes it feel like chapter three instead of just another sequel. The old themes return - duality, good versus evil, choices, responsibility and relationships. The thing I always really loved about the Spider-Man movies is the characters, and they, again, are the main focus here.

The only thing which stops this one from surpassing the previous entries is that there is a little too much going on in it. It's not that the movie isn't long enough, it's that Sam Raimi seems to have divided up the screen time rather bizarrly - Venom gets around about the same amount of screen time as Mary-Jane's singing, which doesn't seem right.

In summary though, a few minor problems aside, Spider-Man returns and doesn't let the fans down. Watch and enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ken Dodd: The Laughter Maker, 8 May 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ken Dodd's nationwide tour in 1996 is finally released on DVD. The DVD itself is split into three sections - segments from two shows from the tour (about 30 mins each), both are hysterical, by the way, and the grand finalé of the tour: a special event at the reopening of a theatre in Liverpool, which amounts to around 40 mins.

Where this differs from the Audience With DVDs that were previously available is that in the final segment, Ken's fantastic voice gets a proper airing. Where he usually sings a song for laughs, he sings for enjoyment.

All in all, an excellent record of the great Ken Dodd, both as a comedian and a singer.

If you find Ken funny (who doesn't?) you should buy this. And if you don't find him funny, WHY NOT?!?
