A good sequel to the first story. A great action packed book, pretty easy reading but a good slant on reality.

This follows on from book 1, which you don't need to read but sets the scene and without it may be a bit confusing. I think they are great stories, if you like fantasy. Great for adults and teenagers

I bought this because it was a "deal of the day". It was really easy reading but a good story. I've recommended it to my daughter (who's nearly 13) and she's enjoyed it as well

5.0 out of 5 stars Guardians of Ga'Hoole - book 2, 11 April 2011
Excellent book. My daughter has had book 2 of the Guardians series on order from our local bookshop for ages but since it is out of print the only option was to order a used copy. This was a superb book which although only described as "good" (rather than "as new") was in very good condition. Needless to say she read it in a couple of days. Would recommend the series to anyone with children round about 10 years old.

5.0 out of 5 stars Girl's stuff, 19 Nov. 2009
This is the best book I've seen for teenage girls. It answers all those questions that as a teenager you don't want to ask in case someone thinks you're not normal. It's written by an Australian journalist (in fact it was recommended to me by a friend of mine who's a school counsellor in Australia)but has been adapted for the UK market, and is very easy to dip in and out of. Ideal for Mums and Dads, but also for girls to read bits of on their own. Fantastic section on friends, how they can be mean and what to do about it, and also what to do and say if friends try to pressure you to try smoking, drink or drugs. Would recommend to anyone with a daughter over the age of eleven.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dr Doolittle, 19 Nov. 2009
This review is from: Doctor Dolittle [DVD] [1967] (DVD)
The old original version with Rex Harrison is still the favorite in our house, he can't sing, but then it was never about that. As my daughter says about the Eddie Murphy version, "Animals can't speak English - that's why Dr Doolittle has to talk in their languages". It is completely ridiculous but brilliant for a wet Saturday afternoon. Brilliant price and very fast delivery as well.
