5.0 out of 5 stars Very calming for little ones and adults too, 3 July 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Comes in a very nice presentation box and the noise box device is separate from the toy. How it works is it slots into the back and fasten the velcro into place. Comes with two AA battery's pre installed. Very simple to use. There's a volume off dial and four buttons for each of the calming sounds and a switch to set either 23 minutes or 45 minutes, or middle position user defined (manual). It works like a charm. I already tested it on myself nodding off to the sounds of the ocean. This is the on-the-go model which is ideal for travel. Would fit in a small bag ready for use when needed. Perfect. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it promises with ease, 25 Jun 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
First thoughts were that it's easy to assemble. Literally just attach two or three sections together, and the rest can be figured out by examining it rather than looking at the instruction manual. That's how easy it is. However once you look at the instructions it tells you will need to charge it for a full 24 hours before the first use of the vacuum, which I did. Once this initial charge is over future charges are only 16 hours.

It's very easy and lightweight to use, a joy in fact. You won't break a sweat and of course it's two in one so you can unclip the middle part for some hand held action. To be honest I'm not sure if this is the most powerful vacuum I've ever used, but it seems to do the job well enough and emptying out the dust bin was simple enough, but keep an eye on how full it gets because it fills up quickly. I'm all in favour of cordless vacuums because it really takes the drag and hassle out of using them. The top handle folds down so this can be stored away easily in a small area. The only thing that could be quicker is the charging time, but then perhaps it won't be an issue depending on how often you use the vacuum. I certainly think what you get for the price is good here overall.

5.0 out of 5 stars My cat really likes this, 31 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
My cat is a bit fussy but she likes this Iams senior. She prefers it to the other dry catfood we give her. This is probably better for her as it's the most expensive. Somebody said the bag could be made to reseal which is a fair point but you can buy special plastic boxes to keep dry cat food in. I recommend this cat food.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good but with some reservations, 19 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
First impressions out of the box the unit is quite sleek in size and comes with an HDMI cable, remote with batteries and a short cable to connect to your broadband router. This device doesn't have wifi, so if your TV is not near your router you will need powerline adapters. That's a big or small negative depending on how you look at it. A wired connection would be more dependable but wifi is becoming all the more widely used and convenient. Set up was easy, connect the cables and switch on and an easy menu will guide you through a quite fast install. What you get when it's all set up is very impressive, sleek menus (that can be zoomed for people with sight issues), a healthy 500GB sized memory for recording, a good and easy to use remote control which can easily be programmed to control your TV as well as the box. This box can be used without a broadband connection, however what you will get then is just freeview with programme guide and the ability to record programmes and book season passes and it does that very well. With broadband connected you get all the on demand players, iplayer, itv player, 4oD and channel 5 player. As well as the youview ability to rewind all the channels back 7 days, further on demand features are available if you are with BT. This box will work with any broadband, not just BT though. There is a hidden USB port at the front of the box but I was a little disappointed to see that there is no way to save recordings onto external storage and the USB port is not mentioned at all in the instructions and seems to be redundant, perhaps it will be enabled in future software upgrades. With all those issues taken into consideration I still think it's an excellent device and a strong contender for people with broadband and want to get more out of viewing with freeview.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cook book companion to the tv series, 16 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
If you watched the TV series like me and enjoyed it, this is an excellent book to have as it's an usual cook-book due the nature of the series. Where else will you find a cook book that includes such an eclectic range of recipes from cakes to curries and pasties. Over 100 recipes are included and the book is full of colour photographs.Very nicely presented and a great coffee table book too. Of particular interest to me are the inclusion of alternative ingredients to some of the recipes, for example people allergic to wheat or eggs will be given alternative ingredient suggestions. Some of the dishes were invented by the people involved so you won't find them anywhere else. The book also contains a forward by Simon Cowell as it was his company that produced the series and his mothers recipe for roast potatoes. If you collect cook books I also think this is a must. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for difficult feet, 16 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The Pedi itself is extremely simple to use. You put the two AA batteries in like a shaver, take the cap off and press the button to activate. I was really pleased to discover this product because I have a hard callous on my right foot. It comes with instructions on how to use it, basically wash and dry your foot and then use on the area. My advice is to go easy at first, because I had a sore foot the day after just because I'd blasted off too much dry hard skin in one go. This is a great time saving product that will help with that dry hard skin on your feet. Get one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well made torch with a few extras, 20 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I'm something of an amateur torch collector so I will give some views of the pros and cons of this torch taking the price into consideration. From the off I will say that if this is first high priced 200 Lumen LED torch you have ever used or purchased you will be impressed by it, especially if you're only used to the days of the old incandescent torches. It is well constructed, solid military grade aluminum and a good weight. Also Water proof to 2 metres.

In order to switch on the light the tail cap button has to be pressed for 1 second in duration, once on you can click the button through the other 4 modes. Hold the button for a second and the light will switch off. This is a draw back and a benefit in my opinion, it means it won't switch on accidentally and other people will not know how to switch on the light. That's good. On the other hand, it's kind of irritating that you have a delay of a second before it comes on. Perhaps not an issue for some people of course. 200 Lumens is quite a bright light level, more than most people will need. One feature I really like is that this torch can tail stand like a candle. Which is a useful position for setting the torch down in a power cut situation as it will illuminate the whole room.

OK, so it's a good torch, but the other selling points of course are that it's rechargeable and also allows you to charge other devices like mobile phones from the battery. It comes with plenty of connections for various gadgets (all of which along with the torch fit inside the zip up carry pouch that comes with it). So that makes this perhaps a great torch to have charged and keep in your car glove compartment. I was tempted to say camping as well, but to be honest if I was going camping I'd want a torch that took normal batteries that I could swap out easily. So here comes my other point, you can buy torches as good as this, even brighter, that take normal double A or triple A batteries at a third of the price of this torch. So I'd say with this torch you're paying £30 extra really for the convenience of it being rechargeable and the ability to charge other devices from it. If you're happy with that, this is a great well made torch. A good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another rip-roaring adventure with Dick Barton, 16 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Another classic adventure unearthed sees Barton up against Li-Chang and Max Latour. It's fun. There have been some suggestions of things being un-pc but you have to take the context into consideration. When I listen to things like this I put myself back into that time frame. Definitely worth buying for Barton fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stylish, compact, works well, 16 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Downsizing and multifunction are the key words with this stylish Tefal Chopper. It's very simple to use, you may not even need more than a glance at the instruction manual. It has three blades and two buttons on the top of the unit. One for normal speed and one for turbo. Both speeds great for pulsing things. Easy to clean and easy to store. You can wrap the cable around the red top and there's a little claw groove to hang the plug so it's out of the way when you put it back in the cupboard afterwards. Recommended.
