4.0 out of 5 stars Great hardware, inadequate software, 13 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This machine produces top quality text, scans and copies with admirable speed. It suffers, though, from having no obvious means of re-sizing text; and my A4 pages of centred text are printed with too wide a border at the bottom and top of alternate pages, so that the text no longer appears centred. I have not been able to find out how to correct this. So, top marks for the hardware, but reservations about the quality of the software.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating exploration of an unusual subject, 21 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A most beautifully illustrated book at an amazingly cheap price for the quality of paper and reproduction. The text is absorbingly written and meticulously researched. If you have an interest in both books and architecture it will be difficult for you to avoid having to buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best bread knife I've ever used, 21 Jan 2014

The knife is staggeringly sharp. It is also light and easy to use. It's expensive, but I don't grudge a penny of its cost.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money when it works, 21 Jan 2014

When first used the brush-head rotated freely, but stopped as soon as it touched the carpet. When I took the unit apart to find out what was happening I found that it had been incorrectly assembled. When re-assembled it worked well. So, zero marks for quality control, but high marks for value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slow but sure, 31 Jan 2009
I bought this Kenwood toaster a couple of weeks ago, so cannot comment on its long-term reliability. It produces much more evenly browned toast than its predecessor and the settings work well. I like my toast dark so I use either a 4 or a 5 lights setting, depending on the thickness of the bread (the thinner the bread the less heating it will need). Two adverse comments: though it takes quite thick slices of bread it fails on height. The top inch or so of my home-baked bread doesn't get properly browned, and the machine isn't long enough for me to put the bread in lengthwise. The other problem arises if you're in a hurry: the machine is really laid back. It takes a good half-minute longer to produce a piece of toast than my last machine did.

Overall rating: 4 stars. Good value for money, but a couple of points could be improved.
