5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for KS2 illustrating lots of techniques they learn about, 24 April 2013

I'm a children's tutor and this is one of the books I use to get children reading.

Vivid descriptions.
I encourage children to reread their favourite sections and this helps their own writing style to improve.
Captivating for both children and adults.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is gonna be big....., 19 Mar 2013

Sythpop at it`s best.
My favourite is drum and machines.
Checkout the vids on youtube - an excellent antidote to the formula stuff in the charts. Video production is imaginative too.
Dark, heavy complex yet simple, catchy - this should be massive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Would be better with a DVD, 13 Feb 2013

A lot to take in. Without a DVD this can get tiresome.
However this is no other DVD training product available I could find.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mortlock will keep you on the edge of your seat, 19 Aug 2011
This review is from: Mortlock (Paperback)
I am 7 years old and I recently read Mortlock.

Mortlock is an exiting thriller, containing lots of blood and gore!

These are the things I enjoyed the most about Mortlock -

Descriptions
The words he uses paint vivid pictures which helps bring the story to life.

Characters
Each character has a major part to play and has exciting skills and jobs.

Plot
Each story component creates an exiting, complicated story structure

Poems
The similar rhythm and darkness of the poems help to create a bleak atmosphere.

Gore
The gore adds to the dark tone of the story also.

Personally I think Jon Mayhew is a fantastic author.
I'd love to know what inspired the author to write this book.
