Not sure about the recent Berndes quality, 7 July 2013
Update after 2 months of use:
The outer coating of the pan is falling off.
Definately returning this pan. Not buying againg.
We needed a new induction capable frying pan because the old ones were worn out.
Having owned a number of Berndes pans to great satisfaction, we opted for this new Berndes pan with ceramic coating.
Out of the box I am not impressed with the quality of this pan.
The handle was loose and the ceramic coating has not been not perfecty applied (uneven, chipped).
The pan also feels cheap and flimsy, as compared to other Berndes pans which I bought around 7 years ago.
It looks like as if they went from 'Made in Germany' to 'Made in China'.
The price is quite steep for what you get. I also need to use a higher setting with my induction cooker to get it to heat up properly as compared to my old Berndes pans.
The ceramic coating works rather nice though, nothing sticks to it and you only have to use a very small quantity of oil.
I am not sure how it will work out in the long term, we will have to see.
