Stuffed down a down pipe it certainly made all the right noises and roiled up the standing water but it wasn't up to the job of breaking up the solid blockage of grit and moss without some help, I'm not sure it is intended for such hard work but it's pretty tough and withstood a bunch of ramming into stuff and pushing to and fro. No leaks from the adaptor either (our washer is unbranded, so a bit of a surprise that it was such a good fit!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Item, features, price, service, wow., 24 Nov 2014

Lovely to buy something and have the feeling that you got proper value for money and good service. It's a sturdy "full size" chain breaker, about the same size as the Park one. It has an adjustable anvil that you use to stop the links twisting when pushing the link back in. This feature alone is worth its weight in gold, and then they give you an extra pin for good measure. Now, the pins don't turn quite as freely as the Park ones do, but back off 1/4 turn and then carry on and you're good to go. DO NOT BUY the teeny tiny cheap ones (like I did) because you can't get enough leverage to use them properly without killing your thumbs or slipping spanners over the ends. This one has broad rubber grips, and by comparison seems to do the work for you. It has two mystery features - a knurled hole in the middle and a second spare pin; this one without a point, is rounded off completely. Answers on a postcard please. A purchase you won't regret.

3.0 out of 5 stars Blindingly Bright, Funnily fitting, 15 Oct 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
(About me...Male, 40" chest, 5 ft 7in, Cycle commuter 7-10 miles daily). Fit is moderately small with one big irritation. Form fitting as you can expect from a cycling or running jersey without being fitted enough to jam on that last bulge on the belt line. For me, this is definitely a good thing. However, the sleeve joins are poorly cut, feeling too small under the arms. If I were using it for running, feeling the pinch with every movement, it would be going back. As it it it'll need some unsubtle stretching to try and make it tolerable.

You have to peel it off from the bottom upwards; if you try and pull it off over your head while it's damp, it may pop a couple of stitches. Best for use around 5-10 degrees, and good down to freezing with a baselayer. A total bargain when put against the better known brands, but if you are not cut from the skinny runner's cloth, i would recommend going a size up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy Singly or in Tens for a saving, 26 Mar 2013
Strange pricing on this one. I bought 10 and have just come back for more. Single - £6. Ten for £60 (a bit of a discount would be nice, but Ok). But 3 for £20?? What?? I think someone's not been paying attention in class! :)

These are very bright, a little brighter than 50W halogens, and they give me a warm glow whenever i turn on the power. my entire kitchen lit for the electricity cost of a single halogen! Just got to hope they last, so back in a year with another review!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual, well made and just lovely., 12 Aug 2011

Bought for a friend's HTC Wildfire, it fitted perfectly. Proporta were a tremendous help in finding a vegan-friendly case the right size for the phone as it wasn't on the list [maybe it would be an idea to be more comprehensive on the listing?]. Emails were responded to in a personal and friendly manner. 10/10 for great service!

The front pocket holds a bamboo stiffener (supplied) that gives good extra screen protection, and the whole case has a feel of care and attention to detail with nice stitching and no loose threads.

Arrived in a jiffy bag with a postcard (that I have sent to my Dad) and a teabag (which made a lovely cup of tea.) This is what online shopping should be like.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tricky little blighters..., 4 Mar 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Works really well, but note! Preparation prevents poor performance! You get 2 protectors in the pack, and will likely waste one (like I did) or both if you don't prepare first! Your enemy is dust sticking to the adhesive underside of the protector [another reviewer has mentioned this can be cleaned off but it didn't work for me!] Prepare a clear area in a room with still air. Wipe the work surface down with a slightly damp cloth. wear dust/fibre free clothes [so shirt, not t-shirt] or just take your top off. [seriously, fibres get everywhere, just ask CSI!] Clean the screen with a lint-free lens cloth [woven, not the yellow fluffy ones]. Peel back a little of the film on the adhesive side and align the protector *exactly* with the top edge of the glass [misalignment will need peeling back off potentially exposing all of the adhesive to dust] gradually reveal more adhesive, while rubbing outwards any air bubbles towards the edge [if you're going slowly enough there shouldn't be any]. Hope this helps - it's one of the trickiest operations commonly performed outside of the hospital.

The complete combined stories from 2000AD, DR and Quinch are the loveable alien ASBOys from the future. Delinquent and delightful, and in their own way, responsible for the way our world looks today.

Use my waterproof case in damp and wet conditions almost every day [yes, I read in the bath]. My Desire HD thanks Proporta from the bottom of its little electronic heart.
The first couple of times it can be tricky to get the ziplock seals aligned, but these ease up and they give a nice positive click to let you know they are engaged. This makes sealing a cinch (boom boom).
The instructions include a waterproof-ness test you can do that a)works, and b) reassures you that your gadget is safe without having to go straight to a nerve wracking live test!

My second set of Black snake cables. A budget alternative to the £50+ Gore fully sealed cables. Well worth the money as it cuts down on cable friction caused by corrosion and reduces the amount of maintenance you need to do. GT85 the inners before installation anyway, and use grease on the joins in the cable outer. Lovely.

3.0 out of 5 stars Novel or Novella?, 4 Jan 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Engineman (Paperback)
**READ THE SMALL PRINT BEFORE BUYING** So, you read the story, it develops nicely with interesting moderately paced story and decent characters. Because he concentrates on characters and story and leaves technical aspects well alone, I find Brown's writing always leaves me feeling like there is a gap that needs to be filled. This was enhanced when, Oh!, [edit for clarity] the novel finished two thirds of the way through the book.

I used to find it a bit annoying when I buy a book and find it ends 40 pages before the pages run out, with the first chapter of the next book squatting there like a toad. Publishers have twigged to this and some, notably Orbit, now grey-edge the pages to forwarn you. No such luck here...

Bye-bye novel, hello "Engineman stories" 8 shorts of varying quality sharing (mostly) the same universe.
