This review is from: The Dying Earth (Paperback)
This is a book of short stories about a dying world and the people living in the last days of a dying sun. These are the product of a wonderful story teller who can weave magic and SF together and create a complete and alien world in which the reader can become totally involved.

Did not know EMPIRE BRASS until i came across a track from this cd on a TAG MCLAREN test disc, very impressive playing and recording. Then purchased the cd and found a good selection of music from the period 138 BC to 1611 AD.This is an unusual period for brass music and is very enjoyable to hear this kind of music. Superb playing and HI FI demonstration class recording. The original track i heard was HOPPER DANCE great fun!

Once again from this singer a late night very laid back treat with a selection of well known songs given a new slant.Although her voice will not appeal to everyone as it sounds a little worn by life, she has a unique way with songs and deserves to be better known.Even more recommened is the cd" Make this moment" with its selection of more well known songs.Recommended.(both).

5.0 out of 5 stars Betthoven piano concertos, 24 Jan. 2011

If you already have several versions of these works but are prepared to listen to something different,i would urge you to buy this set.At the outset you will find the recording is superb with an imaculate balance between soloist and orchestra, next there is no competition between soloist and orchestra, but a spirit of total cooperation focusing on every line and note of the music. The tempi are constantly shifting with non of the stiff constant drive found in many versions. The piano playing is very lyrical, with quiet parts sounding like liquid gold but no shortage of bravura when required,in short"wonderful" I found myself listening spellbound as if hearing very well known music for the first time.Highly recommended.I hope this review is helpful.

I first discovered this book in a friends kitchen and found its title interesting. My friend had found this book to contain many wonderful recipes and it does, ranging from the arab world via morrocco to greece spain and portugal.Spicy food ar its best, using easily obtained ingredients and easily followed recipes.Highly reccommended.

This is a strange story with lots of very original themes, not always an easy read as it incorporates many time shifts. The end of the book is odd, it is a very personal thing to decide if it works. Worth reading as it is certainly different.

Recently had the good fortune to hear Rex Lawson playing this work and was amazed a hearing The Rite of Spring played on a pianola. The cd is equally good and well worth searching for a copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars EPSON B1100, 3 April 2010
I bought this printer to replace an R1800 with some trepidation as the price is a lot lower. Mainly used for photo printing, Ink seems to last a lot longer than R18oo ink,as supplied colour balance is odd, so adjust the colour controls for best results.I am pleased with this printer it very quiet and gives results very near to the R1800 at a lot less cost.As a bonus it is pleasant to look at. This printer was later converted to a continuous ink system from city ink express(easy to do ) printer now prints easily as good as R1800 and ink is almost free.As an example of how well it prints a print from this has just won pic of the month at our camera club, not bad for a 4 ink printer. As a last tip it is best to use Epson software to print, not as good using Photoshop.

This is a wonderful cd, if you like cool sophisticated music sung in a sad gentle style try this, very introspective and very beautiful. Works better if you are older and a romantic.
