5.0 out of 5 stars A fan's journey through Space and Time, 13 Aug 2014
Covering all 26 seasons of the original series as well as the 1996 TV movie, this book takes a look at each adventure of the Time Lord offering fresh insights, often diverging from the 'established fan wisdom' and cliche opinions which can be found in many a 'Who book
This makes for a very entertaining read, often funny and thought provoking. Some of the entries have made me reconsider my own opinions - and others had me wildly disagreeing!
The kindle table of contents makes it possible to jump to a favourite story and there are 'bonus' articles ranking each Doctor's adventures.
This will appeal to a new fan just begining to explore the series and a long time follower wanting to hear some new takes on their favourite series.

2.0 out of 5 stars It had to happen sooner or later - a bad Reacher novel, 27 Jun 2014

It had to happen sooner or later - a bad Reacher novel. There's very little of Child's trademark action here, instead it's another 'love story' for Jack with yet another woman who probably won't be in the next book and we'll never hear of again.

New readers should stick to the earlier books, and skip this one when they get to it.

Hopefully the next volume will be a return to form

This is the first of Nuttall's books I've read - but it won't be the last!
Humanity is thrown into all out war with an enigmatic alien enemy and the story follows the crew of a British space carrier as the battle is engaged.
The pace never flags and the likeable cast of characters face hard choices and dangerous situations both from the persistent alien threat and from more personal challenges
I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes fast paced action/SF

This rattles along, an exciting thriller with some good gory fun and tense situations. All of Iain Rob Wright's books are a treat for lovers of horror/thriller fiction

Review of Kindle edition

At last there's a worthy successor to the crown of Richard Laymon. This title was recommended to me in the Kindle store, the price was good and the synopsis sounded my kind of story, so I downloaded - and didn't look back

The characters are well drawn and the action relentless, if you like a fast moving plot with a bit of gore and a dash of humour then you'll enjoy this.

I've already purchased some more of Mr. Wrights work and am looking forward to getting started.

5.0 out of 5 stars In depth look at 'Who at the Movies, 2 Sep 2013

This is an exhaustive account of the making of the two Sixties filma and the plans for films that almost were.

I've been reading about the series for over thirty years and this book contained lots of info I hadn't seen before.

The Kindle edition is well formatted and the numerous footnotes are easy to access

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Horror Novel, 27 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great, no holds barred horror novel.

It follows a classic formula - group of people in isolated situation being preyed upon by the villian(S, but Kilborn keeps the story moving with a lot of energy and some good twists and turns.

You'll find yourself racing through this, a very enjoyable experience.

Ebook is good value, but there are a few minor presentation glitches - mainly where the scens changes with no empty line in between to indicate this.

A heady cocktail of lust, deception and intrigue. As ever Lawrence Block weaves a gripping tale.

Anyone who enjoys the 'Golden Age' of pulp will enjoy this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Nasty Fun!, 4 Feb 2012

I had a great time reading this book, if you like your horror 'full on' (Texas Chainsaw etc) then it's for you.

Kilborn sketches each character skillfully weaving several storyliines together in a book which will have you turning the pages after midnight.

I've paid a lot more for books I've enjoyed a lot less.
