Body Sculpture Cast Iron 20kg Dumbbell Kit with Case - Black
Body Sculpture Cast Iron 20kg Dumbbell Kit with Case - Black

4.0 out of 5 stars Good price weights, 2 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I ordered this during the Amazon sale so got it for 27 gbp with free delivery. This was a very good price and well worth it.

The weights are softened around the edges so they don't scratch your wood floor and the screws are rubber sealed so they don't loosen easily -- very important if you are doing a triceps curl!

the box is flimsy, but quite frankly you wouldn't use the box normally unless you are moving frequently.

Overall a good product and it arrived on time, so I'm very satisfied

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent starters book, 27 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book will give you a summary of Agile Project Management techniques and best practices.

If you want to gain a quick understanding of what is needed, this is the book for you. If you want to get a deep understanding -- surprisingly, this is also the book for you. It manages to do both very well. It skips on a lot of analytical details and gets you to the heart of what you need quickly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Heat resistant, but very stiff and hard to grip things, 27 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this and another heat resistant pair of gloves (orange) -- those are better as they are like gloves with fingers, so you can grip things better.

This set of gloves is good if you want to hold things as shown in the picture, but you can't grip because the gloves are very, very stiff. I suppose it's because it's got so much heat resistant material. I did stick this to touch an oven at 300 celsius and didn't feel any heat.

so, all-in-all, it's a good purchase if you specifically want to hold very hot things as shown in the picture. But, if you're an ordinary home user, look for a mitt that is more flexible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exquisitely detailed -- a must read, 27 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The sheer evil of Stalin is encapsulated in this book, along with the sheer ordinariness and also the sheer brilliance.

What you get from this book is an understanding of how a man like Stalin could come to power, murder his way to the top, murder all his friends and rivals and still live to an old age. One sees the same utter fear in the way Ghaddafi or Ceacescu kept people under control until suddenly one day, everyone realised that everyone hated that one person.

This book with tell you exactly how, if people stick together as cowards, they can let one man take over everything.

Even worse, this book shows you how the Stalinist leaders, not only Stalin but Beria etc. were so casual about murdering millions that it makes you wonder if the early 20th century was a case of who is more evil - the Nazis or the Soviets.

Also, you will be struck, as I was, by how the communists declared war against the peasantry and how, when we thought this was just Russians, how the top leadership was dominated by non-Russians: by Georgians, some Armenians, Jews, Poles -- evil crosses all ethnic boundaries.

I highly, highly recommend this book -- the details which the author gives, the little notes from hundreds of interviews, letters from one person to another, enable you to really get into the mind of Stalin -- but be warned that you need to wear high boots to wade through the muck..

I received the books in good condition -- probably too much packaging :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Strongly recommend this for anyone wanting to know more details about Indian history, 21 July 2012

This review is from: India: A History (Paperback)
I strongly, strongly recommend this book for it's breadth AND depth -- it gives you a comprehensive picture of Indian history from Harappan times until the modern era.

This is also written in a very lucid and extremely readable style.

Anyone who wants to know a little or a lot about India should read this -- it belies simple answers given to questions like "the British Raj", "Moslem rule" etc.

A must read in my opinion

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book on details of the Russian effort prior to WWI, 13 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book contains a lot of hidden details that one is not aware of -- like the British selling warships to the Ottomans which directly affected the Russians and also how the Bulgarian advance on Constantinople was a threat to the Russians.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this and the book "The Eastern Front" for any history buff -- especially one who wants to know more about what started both the world wars. This book gives you so much more knowledge on it and deepens the perspective from a simplistic "Germay's fault" or "Serbia's fault".

The book arrived in very good condition and very quickly.

I am overall highly pleased
