2.0 out of 5 stars Lacklustre Release, 8 May 2014
I know the description doesn't mention any extras but i kind of expected something more than a trailer that looks like it was recorded with a potato. It does come with the European Theatrical Cut" and "Directors Cut - English Audio Only" but that's it. Its literally the old UK blu ray disc (same old logo and everything) repackaged in a steelbook, which honestly could have been better, or at least the inner art could have been better than a blurry pic of tom cruse standing in the woods. Out of every scene in the movie that's the one they chose to use. I feel like if you are going to do a special edition theres a right way to do it and a wrong way. This edition feels very lazy. Overall very disappointed and i would recommend everyone just stick with the standard region free blu-ray editions unless you really like this steelbooks cover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent & Long Overdue Reprint, 29 April 2014
I wasnt expecting this edition to be so nice. I was suprised at how thick it was. The Dark Crystal original print novelisation is almost a pamphlet compared to the size of this new edition. The novel itself is around 200 pages long (larger print and margins than the original to make the book thicker i guess) and the rest of the book (around 30 pages) is made up of lots of original notes and sketches. The sketches are nice but i would have preferred some more completed drawings or some behind the scenes photos from when they were filming. This is a very welcome reprint as original copies of the novelisation seem to go for an extortionate price so ive never had the chance to read it before All the copies on ebay are 60+. Im now looking forward to the new reprint of the Dark Crystal as well.

To all the people that are complaining about getting this instead of a prequel: It clearly states that that description is for an Alternate Hardcover edition!. Click on that link and you will be taken to the pre order page for the prequel. Also the prequel is a Graphic Novel and has a completely different author!

4.0 out of 5 stars Grows On you, 15 April 2014
This review is from: Muramasa Rebirth (Video Game)
From all the 5 star reviews of this game and the gorgeous looking graphics in trailers, i was really looking forward to buying this as soon as i got a PS Vita. After the first day of playing it i knew i was going to have problems. The first few minutes i just played in awe at the stunning backgrounds and sprites. Then i noticed that i wasn't following the story at all. It throws you in and you just feel like you have missed the first few hours. Instead of having so much dialogue, which barely keeps the story going, a few animated cut scenes would have been very welcome. They would have helped break up the monotonous, highly repetitive gameplay. Despite there being loads of locations they all feel exactly the same and it becomes a chore to play through. Ive played it for only a few hours and i think im almost at the end so its also disappointingly short, but i guess there's two story lines/characters to play and several difficulties but its so monotonous i have no desire to replay it. The game doesn't make use of any of the vita's touch screens or cameras but that's probably because its a Wii port. In the end im left wishing i had spent my money on a better game.

UPDATE:
I got around to finishing both story lines and im starting to understand the game a bit more. I still dont like how so many locations feel the same but they look so good that its bearable. Another thing i didn't like was the small variety of enemies but there's different ones on different character playthroughs. I think once you play both storys once, you have probably put 10+ hours in to it and finally start to enjoy it, and once you have completed the two storys you unlock a lot more features and find out that theres a lot of alternate endings. Another standout feature of the game is the soundtrack. I think the one thing that would have made me like this game a lot more from the start is that if they had released it with the DLC built in, instead of releasing the Wii port first without any additional gameplay and then the DLC later. It sounds like the DLC is a lot of fun but im not one for paying for extra content when ive already bought the game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gold Secret God Cards, 5 April 2014
Premium Gold beats every other Gold Series pack. Every card is either Gold Secret or Gold Rare. It comes with one booster that contains 6 Gold Secrets and 9 Gold Rares. This set also has the God Cards (playable versions) in Gold Secret and they look very very nice, a lot better than the War of the Giants mosaic rares.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tales of Symphonia Chronicles Collectors Edition, 25 Mar 2014
ToS was my favourite game on GameCube so i was thrilled when i heard it was getting an HD remaster for the PS3. The HD remaster itself could have been better but this review is just about the collectors edition contents, which i was very disappointed with despite being very excited for it when i first saw it. The figures are pretty poor quality and the book is awfully written and/or translated. There are typos on every page that make it annoying to read and its just not that good a story overall. The OST is nothing special. The best part of the CE is really just the nice slipcase. Definitely the last time i buy a "Tales" Collectors Edition.

The Way of Kings: The Stormlight Archive Book One
The Way of Kings: The Stormlight Archive Book One
by Brandon Sanderson
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars The Beginning of Something Special, 17 Jan 2014
Im a fan of Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn and Elantris books and his work on The Wheel of Time so when i saw he was coming out with his own epic series i couldnt help but be interested. Im always attracted to the biggest books on the shelves and this was is a monster at 1000 pages. For anyone wondering about the size, its about the same size as the big Shannara omnibuses that came out a while ago, but this is ONE book, not a trilogy or more. You really get thrown in at the deep end with this book. The world is insanely detailed and complex and not much is explained right off. The prologue and other beginning chapters made literally no sense to me and i soon forgot them, not realising they were important backstory for the book. It took me a long time to get into the book as it has a slow start and with this series brandon sanderson has come up with a whole world thats unlike anything ive ever read before so its hard to get your head around all the specifics. I dont think i really got into it until around 400/500 pages in but after that i quickly finished it. I agree with other people in that not much action happens and all the characters end up basically in the same places they started but thats not important as so much is still happening. I was concerned the book wasnt going to go anywhere in the first hundred pages or two and they were quite a chore to read but after that i felt bad for ever doubting brandon sandersons skill at weaving a gripping story. Im very much looking forward to the next instalment. Im glad i took so long to finish this book (i bought it a few years ago but it took a while to get into it). If i had finished it any faster the wait for the next one would be unbearable. My only worry now is that its coming out during an exam week for me and i dont want to be distracted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Film, 12 Jan 2014
As a massive Tangled fan i was really looking forward to this and it didnt disappoint. I cant decide which one is better. I think Frozen has the visual edge with the impressive snow and ice effects but Tangled might have the edge with story. The comedy is about the same in both. A few of the songs weren't that great but it had a few excellent ones that made up for it. I also thought the relationship between the two main characters developed better in Tangled than in this but its still an excellent movie. I read that its had some production troubles over the years and this is sort of evident by the weird flow i feel the movie has, but kids wont care and they will still enjoy it just the same.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Set of Reprints, 24 Dec 2013
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered two of these boxes (36 boosters per box, 5 cards per pack with a Mosaic and a Rare in every one) and a bit annoyed they went down to 26 the next day but whatever. They were still a great deal at 29 and i got Slifer and Ra which are the main reason people will be buying these so if you definately want to get at least one i would buy several boxes or just buy the gods singly if you dont care about any of the other cards. This set has a lot of cool reprints like Cyber Jar and Injection Fairy Lily and some good staples like Pot of Greed as a Mosaic rare and Shard of Greed, Dark Magician of Chaos and Call of the Haunted as Rares. Theres a lot of cards i wish werent in it like all the "roid" cards (truckroid etc) but i guess all the older cards that could have replaced them are in Legendary Collection 3 and 4. Hopefully Amazon will be selling the Round 2 booster box just as cheaply as i still want a legal Obelisk

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Deluxe Edition, 19 Dec 2013
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This is what Konami are testing out to replace the current Special Editions that come with 3 boosters and a holo variant. This Deluxe Edition comes in a great sturdy slipcase and comes with 9(!) Judgement of the Light Boosters, 50 card sleeves (with the design from the end of the box on the back), 2 Ultra Rare versions of cards from the set (which are always Flying C and Archfiend Emperor, the First Lord of Horror) and a Shadow Specters sneak peak Super Rare, either Dragon Shield or Vampire Kingdom, and a beginners guide which is basically a rulebook but printed on a fold out pamphlet instead of a booklet. So for what you get its an excellent value set. Theres also two variant boxes but i think the Utopia Ray Victory is the only one for sale here. I also managed to pull two Utopia Ray Victory cards from my boosters, one ultimate and one super.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Case, 20 May 2013
Very nice looking case. Clasp is magnetic and hold closed well. Clips into the plastic frame nicely but the side with the buttons isn't as tight as it should be. I dont know if this is deliberate so that its actually possible to get the phone into the case or not.
