4.0 out of 5 stars the last few episodes are wonderful, 27 Jun. 2016
This review is from: Supernatural: Season 11 (DVD)
This season started off slow but ends with a great twist as a favourite fan character (trying not to give any spoilers) turns out a lot more important.good stand alone episodes including flashbacks of Bobby Singer.Pity no more Charlie though, lets hope for a resurrection next season!

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential in any horror collection, 10 Aug. 2014
Essential viewing for Horror film fans is this follow up to the 2010 Video Nasties set. This new set carries on the story and even the most die hard horror fan should find something in the hours of trailers and commentaries on individual films. The actual documentary is fascinating and chilling watching showing how small groups of (mainly) religous fanaatics can impose their views on the majority. It should be shown on TV but never will. There are only 6666 copies so get yours before they sell out (or are censored!).
The easter eggs are hidden on the Fanzines section when you highlight credits (go left or right) and in the scene selections on the first and second screens (look out for small dots appearing when going left or right).

Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars good collection of Forteana, 1 Dec. 2012
This series of books compiled from letters and postings to Fortean Times message board,is another selection of strange, unusual and downright weird stories.Divided into themed sections there should be enough to satisfy everyone. There is a very interesting chapter on sightings of dog headed creatures and another on Shadow People.Well worth the price as are all in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ultimate Hicks movie, 1 Oct. 2010
I was lucky enough to see the film on it's limited cinema release and thought it was much better than the Channel 4 tribute on "Totally Bill Hicks". The DVD release however puts it in a different league again. The extras are unbelievable. 3 hours of extra interviews alone spread over the 2 discs in a chronological progression about his life and career.Excerpts from Bill's own tape recorded thoughts.Featurettes on his fans, the families reaction to finding out how loved he is here in the UK etc.30 minutes of performance by Bill!
This is a work of love by true fans of the man, and if you too are a fan, run, don't walk to your nearest supplier and order this now!
it should be on every Bill Hick's fans shelf.

3.0 out of 5 stars good and gory, 18 April 2010
This review is from: Apocalypse Of The Dead [DVD] (DVD)
This film is also known as ZONE OF THE DEAD in case anyone spots it under that title as well. A Serbian made zombie flick with lots of nods towards the Romero style of zombie films.A nod to RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD is having a gas cause the dead to rise. This is not a great zombie film, but you could do a lot worse then buying it if you are a zombie fan.It is good to see a different take on zombies from European eyes. The film is dubbed but watchable. It is more enjoyable watching it with friends after the pub though!

5.0 out of 5 stars good set with extras, 7 Jan. 2010
Just to update what has been put on ere about this set in the UK. I got a set with no extras.I phoned the number given here for Warner, and was advised by them to send the set back using a freepost addres. I did and they promptly sent me a new set with all the discs and extras.
The set is very good, and I enjoyed the commentaries and extras which help flesh it out.
Extra and extended scenes are included for some episodes.
picture quality and sound are excellent, and I recommend this set to all Supernatural fans now that Warner have got their act together.

Tony Hancock Collection: The Punch And Judy Man / The Rebel [DVD]

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful additrion to complete Hancock, 8 Mar. 2009
This handy compilation of two of Tony Hancock's films is excellent value for money. The Rebel is of course the main draw here and it isa very good transfer in 4:3 format.
The other film has it's moments and is still a good film, but can't hold a candle to The Rebel.
It is fun looking at all the great actors and actresses who appear in cameo roles in both movies.
The commentery on The Rebel is interesting although I would have liked a little more about the movie itself. It is a shame there isn't any on The Punch & Judy Man.

This review is from: Haunted Leeds (Paperback)
Ken Goor is a local guide who conducts many historical walks around leeds as well as a ghost walk. he is to be congratulated on seeking out new stories for his book as well as old ones.
The book whilsst slim has an excellent range of stories and covers not just central Leeds but its suburbs as well.
recommended to ghost lovers and people looking for a different side of Leeds.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hyped film disappoints, 26 Mar. 2007
This review is from: Legend of the Witches [DVD] (DVD)
I had waited years to see a copy of this rare film. However contrary to what it says on the DVD cover, this does not run 113 minutes.

It runs 72 minutes approx and is the cut down version of the film.

Most of the film consists of a voice over, and you only get to hear what Alex Sanders actually sounded like in a very spurious so-called "Black magic" ritual inserted to attract people into the few cinemas that actually showed this film.

The picture quality is excellent though . There are lots of interesting shots of standing stones, carved figures etc ,but none are identified.

Interesting footage of Boscastle Witch Museum in the 1960's before it was sold and done up to make it better.

I was informed years ago by another Pagan , that the opening ritual was filmed at Alderley Edge.

The special features stills gallery is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen on a DVD .just a few random pictures from the film and not even the most dramatic!

Interesting for curiosity value to mpdern Pagans ,but definitely not worth the money.Buy it at the secondhand price or in a remainder bin if you can find it.
