If you are a fan of Tarja Turunen's solo work then this is worth your time. Very good vocals and some interesting song arrangements.

Very very cheaply made, way overpriced. Not impressed

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 16 Jun 2014

To sum up this album : some immaculate singing interspersed with some self indulgent twaddle from an otherwise competant rock drummer. The first track is simply dreadful, it sounds like a drunk bloke staggering through some dustbins behind a concert hall. I really can't recommend this to anyone but the most rabid Tarja fan, and even then I'm hesitant.

This band have improved with each release. They cover the whole range of symphonic rock, epic instrumentals, loverlorn ballads, heavy riffage with growls etc. The musicianship and song writing is tight and the singer is fantastic. If you like Epica, Tristania Nightwish and Xandria (especially the current incarnation) then this is right up your street.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected!, 3 April 2014

I was expecting something a lot more visceral, I was half expecting not to like this band anticipating something heavy and cheesey death metal growling. I was pleasantly surprised, really liked it, reminded me of the Cure in odd places. This is my first encounter with Katatonia, but I think it will not be my last.

I have a soft spot for old school doom and female fronted rock, bought this on a whim not knowing it had a female singer. The sound is very primal (Sabbath riffs) and the vocals are great. If you like The Devils' Blood , Jess & The Ancients or Blood Ceremony then you will definitely love this. Highly recommmended

This is just dire...if you're trying to compete in the same arena as Tarja, Simone Simons and Sharon Den Adel...then you actually have to be able to sing. I hope for the bands sake they have improved on their many other albums, but I wont be attempting to find out.

Really really poor.

I bought this thinking it was another album by Finnish group Indica (kind of Evanescence meets the Bangles, but not actually as good as that sounds on paper).
However this is actually a three piece rock band from Argentina. I didn't hate it! Kind of stadium rock, vocals are a little weak but overall it's not too bad..not great but not awful either.

3.0 out of 5 stars Shoot the singer!, 14 Nov 2013

I love most trailer music, Epic Score, Audiomachine, Future World Music out of all the purchases I have made this has been the only one that has disappointed in places. The music is as always of a high standard but there is a major fly in the ointment on this album.
The music is big and epic, sadly the male singer has a really weak voice relative to the music and some of the lyrics are unbelievably naff. It really ruined some of the tracks me. The female vocalist isn't quite as bad.
If you are getting into epic/trailer/soundtrack music this would not be a recommended place to start.

I saw these guys kick off the Splendor Festival in Notts and they were one of the best acts on all day. Strongly recommend if you like Vampire Weekend or Graceland era Paul Simon. I can see them winning a lot of fans if they get onto the festival circuit, perfect summers afternoon music.
