3.0 out of 5 stars utterly ludicrous but entertaining - esp for dylan admirers, 21 Jan. 2004
This review is from: The Actors [DVD] [2003] (DVD)
I bought one from ebay & sure, it is utterly ludicrous but entertaining fun nevertheless,
our dylan can actually act as well as performing his trademark woolly childlike stare & sure now everyone seems to be having a fantastic laugh on screen, acting the goat for all they are worth,
the 2 women characters are a bit underused so this is all about the boys,
sadly no commentary on my preview copy (boo)just nominal dvd extras of some still pix, a bit of text and ya usual 5min look at the fun we had making this movie behind the scenes rag,
altho a bit of a letdown considering the talent involved this film is worth a punt if ya like cheesy slapstick fun or any of those involved - although for Miranda fans her action is limited to a
tad blink n its over ...

5.0 out of 5 stars B/W R1 picture problems - try RGB instead - otherwise F*A*B, 21 Jan. 2004
following a friend raving about this product and the overall good reviews I got mine with Xmas money & apart from Region 1 dvds playing in black & white to start with (now solved) no probs so far,
as a helpful soul has already said elsewhere on feedback here try selecting RGB instead of Video etc & remembering to save that change on the picture setup menu for the dvd player coz this also fixed my B/W R1 dvd picture problems & huzzah, colour picture restored,
the remote is a bit fiddly to start with and it is a real pain not to have a scart lead etc supplied in the box itself but buying a lead was not a huge problem just a bit of a chore
the audio option for bumping up the dialogue is fantastic and seems to make a real difference - especially on some of my more arty low budget dvd films - so that was worth the £80 + p&p alone
esp as this same model is available albeit without multiregion capabilities from high street store chains at the moment for £80
as a dvd virgin I was a bit thrown when nowhere on the box etc
said Multiregion but it seems to be so thats fine & like some others I also got a scrappy photocopied manual - in english so that was ok - & the machine was delivered within a few days of ordering
overall so far I have found this a great introduction to dvd players - esp. if you do not feel that you personally need the security of the sony brandname
