4.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful book, 19 July 2013

This review is from: Rick Stein's India (Hardcover)
This is a beautiful book with very high production values. If you have also been following the television series, it give a good idea of the diverse and amazing country which is India. The recipes are described in loving detail, but they appear too complex for everyday cooking (for which Madur Jaffrey is my favourite). I doubt whether I would expose this book to the splashes of my kitchen.

This jacket is windproof and waterproof, light and looks smart and classy. Its only drawback is a lack of sufficient pockets.

5.0 out of 5 stars The raw flavour of Italy, 26 Mar. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
From the start, this book builds on the blood and brutality of young idealists' clashes with the Italian police and we sense their despair that anything will come of the democratic process. Contemporary Italy is vividly envisaged. with its paradoxical clash of corruption and beauty. Gradually the turn of the thriller screw draws the reader in: we WANT to have a resolution.
