1.0 out of 5 stars Never ever buy a BradyGames guide, 19 Mar 2014
BradyGames guides are consistent for one thing only: missing a load of important information. The golden standard for Final Fantasy is always Piggyback. BradyGames are cashing in on this game's re-release by throwing together their old broken guides, and as usual the incredibly poor quality shows.

Remember that the Piggyback guide is based on the PAL version so all the international content from the original PAL release is included in there to begin with. The Piggyback X-2 will only lack the monster creator and Last Mission stuff - which this guide doesn't even have anyway.

Avoid at all costs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sonic's return to form..., 13 Jan 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I have been a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog since his original debut on the Sega Mega Drive. This is a great return to form.

Having played every major release in the 20 years since his beginning in 1991, this is an excellent homage to decades past. Everything still manages to feel new and fresh. There is little story to speak of, though who plays a sonic game for the story?

It's the gameplay that is fun, and the 2D/3D split acts carry the game very well. It doesn't feel as stop/start as one might think when considering the speed differences of the different styles of play. Instead, you recieve an excellent mix of gameplay.

The franchise has taken a dip in quality, what with "Sonic 2006" and the panned "Werehog" sections of "Sonic Unleashed". As well as this, the previously released "Sonic 4: Episode 1" developed by Dimps on behalf of Sonic Team had incredibly poor physics. This all seems forgotten in the great Sonic Generations, which is for the better.

Excellent gameplay
Excellent music

All round fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal Game, a must play for jRPG fans., 13 Jan 2012

This review is from: Final Fantasy VI (Video Game)
This is one of many amazing Final Fantasy titles, and is well worth anyone's time.

The cast of characters has never been so large and interesting, the story is phenomenally told and the graphics were revolutionary time. The only gripe i'd have to state is that the Playstation version has slightly bad loading times compared to the original cartridge.

My honest advice is to either download this from the Playstation store, or play it on an emulator. The reason for this is that there were a few key plot moments lost in translation, as well as parts that were censored for a western audience. This can be circumvented by installing the retranslation patch.

However, if you don't feel up to that, this is always a great alternative.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, 11 Jan 2012

Having played the first 2D Rayman many years ago, I can honestly say this is a fantastic return to form.

I wasn't a fan of many of the 3D entries, having never played any beyond Rayman 2. This game is beautiful, SO MUCH FUN to play and at times will just make you laugh out loud. I already have the platinum trophy (PS3) and I still want to play it. There aren't many games I can say that about.

Also, it's a bargain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good - Not the best Red Faction, 8 Sep 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Honestly, if you've played any of the previous Red Faction games, this is worth the purchase. I feel I need to say that it's not fantastic though.

The game is enjoyable, and really fun. The magnet gun is a lot of fun to play around with, as is reconstruction. The game itself is a linear FPS and has a good coherent story. I would complain that the main campaign is short, and at times it can get slightly boring and repetitive. There were also a few frustrating moments (mainly near the end) that I just ran through the entire level because there is no benefit to actually killing the massive hoarde of creatures that attack you. Seriously, the game will through hundreds of monsters at you in the final places, and it can take a LONG TIME to kill them all. If the last one gets you, you have to do it all over again. Basically, updating the checkpoint system would resolve this issue.

Aside from those points, it is a really enjoyable game with nice graphics, and it really doesn't deserve the bad reviews it has been getting. The main campaign is solid and well presented, but just not as strong as the rest of them.
