Brilliant advice and guides to some amazing dishes, refreshingly honest about when and when not you can accept substitutes to retain a true Thai taste.

Kindle version is excellently laid out and easy to navigate.

First off i want to say that i very much want to see more from this author, he has a talent at writing interesting scenarios that keep me in the loop even though they are very fast paced, something a lot of authors tend to ignore.

The overall plot of this book is clearly not the focus of the writing so is fairly generic, which i would normally dislike but he managed to keep me reading without any considerable lull in the story. The characters are suffering from a serious case of "generic sci-fi" something i really hope he fixes in later books.

He does rather need a new editor (although i believe he may be doing it himself atm but that's word of mouth) nothing major but a few times there were names misplaced and overuse of punctuation marks breaking the sentence flow.

Overall despite it's flaws the story spoke for itself and I found it very enjoyable, not in the same league as Ian M Banks but with some work on characters he may be able to get almost 3/4 as good as him. (Yes i'm a massive Ian M Banks fanboy)

I am speaking the truth when I say that I was very skeptical of Sanderson to begin with, I have always believed that an authors creation can't be recreated by someone else as well as it was done to begin with. But thought this book I could have easily fooled myself into believing that it was R.J all along. Of course it remains to be seen if this quality can be upheld in the last few books.

Now onto the book itself; This book has for me, struck as the one with the best balance of female and male characters. I the preivious books I have always felt that the relation ship between the two genders (in the main characters) has been good but slightly odd in its exicution, for instance the phrase along the lines of "I wish so and so were here, they knew how to deal with women" crops up more times than I would have liked it too. With this book the characters have shed this immature and rather annoying phrase (other than Perrin but I don't like him anyway). This is most likely what R.J intended from the get go.

As always the plot has exceeded my expectations; a lot of people say that it has gone on too long and is being dragged out, what these people rarely say is that no large plot point is ever unpunctuated by smaller significant ones that have kept me hinged for 12 books. If you want an example of a bad control of plot then look no further than A Song of Ice and Fire (although I do like those books) As always there was very few points in the book where I was unsurprised when a new plot point was revealed, what I love about the series is it hides things away in the earlier books then jumps them on you when you least expect it.

In summary, brilliantly written, great characters (except Perrin), 4/5 because Perrin bores me so much.

The Last Battle is coming ...... And I can wait

Crossroads Of Twilight: Book 10 of the Wheel of Time: 10/11
Crossroads Of Twilight: Book 10 of the Wheel of Time: 10/11
by Robert Jordan
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.79

4.0 out of 5 stars Not brilliant but necessary, 24 April 2012
This book will never be known as the best in the series, that much is certain. This problem seems to be common in long book series such as this; most notably would be the song of ice and fire series (In my opinion George R R martin has not a scratch of the writing skill RJ does.) Despite the lack of plot progression (i mean the first 3/4 of the book literally nothing happens to do with rand) the writing is still top rate, the characters carefully written so that each individual plot (except Rand)is clearly moving forward towards a culmination. As i will always say these books are for people who think that good characters are more important that a fast plot.(not to say that a story with a fast plot cannot have good characters Tolkien's series being an obvious example) In short i would wholeheartedly recommend these books to anyone who enjoys the details of a journey of a storyline.
