For all the `Purists` reading this...i first heard my all time fav rock track Wishing Well by Free on an am mono transistor radio on the best ever radio station, luxembourg, when i was a kid in the 70`s, this was before the Sony Walkman was even a twinkling in the brain of some Japanese geek, it sounded tinny and distorted and faded in and out in the novel way that luxembourg did, thats how i first heard it, and listening to it on the incredible chrystal clear stereo sound of this remastered cd sounds nothing like the tinny distorted `pure` version i first heard!
So should you buy it...well all i can say is i bought this to do a copy of for myself and then sell on, but after having heard the whole album all the way through once, their is more chance of me becoming a qualified astronaut and being on the first mission to Mars than thier is of me ever letting go of this cd! Figure it out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!!, 14 Jan 2012
Fools And Worthless Liars is a superb, outstanding album! I was becoming that disillusioned with trying to find current new music as good as this that i was having to look back in time to try and find something i had not heard before, then i discovered this album by Deaf Havana! On first play you know you have have found something very special, with the standout track for me being the stunning Hunstanton Pier, by the third play you realise that every track is as good. The lyrics the vocals the perfect switching from acoustic to wired, everything about the way this band performs these brilliant tracks is superb!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stingray Vol 1, 23 Jun 2010

Superb dvd, picture quality is excellent and the extras especially the character biographies are as well, i`m not sure if it will make it to the young person it was intended for though! When i first watched Stingray as a little boy, it was on a black and white tv, and my reckoning is i just wouldn`t be a good uncle if i didnt test this full colour re-mastered version out first (only to make sure it works of course!!) It`s great!! It`s incredible how every little detail in the background scenery was obviously thought through with such great care, this volume (1) contains the pilot episode plus 6 others and i would highly recommend it for 3 year olds and above and even younger ones will enjoy the puppets and scenery. Stingray was always my favourite of the Gerry Anderson series, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 etc were all good but Stingray was special, being set underwater helped but it also had something else that no indestructable Captain Scarlet or Symphony Angel could ever compete with! Aqua Marina! Still the woman of my dreams (Intelligent,Gorgeous,Very fit,but knows when to keep quite!) and she hasnt changed a bit!

The Rainbow was my favourite novel whilst studying for A level English Lit, and this hard back copy is superb, beautifully finished and covered, an ideal gift.

This review is from: Touching The Void (Paperback)
Reading `Touching the Void` for the first time, now in 2008, it is so good to be reminded that human beings can have much more to them than the base forms of entertainment currently becoming ever more popular.

Joe Simpson manages to take the reader with him on an incredible journey, from experiences many of us would recognise to ones we hope we never will, all of these are conveyed so very, very well.
