5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain!, 15 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent. Well packed and on time, can't really ask for more. Even came with a full length cover which wasn't expected.

Racket itself has been a revelation for me. My serve percentage is up, control is great, loads of power from the baseline, get it at this price while you can!

Pearl Jam back to their brilliant best. The sad self-titled album is easily forgiven and forgotten.

Unthought Known is as good as Black, Lowlight, Nothing Man or Small Town. Modern classic.

Thank you Pearl jam.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wot no Mills?, 29 Jan 2008
This review is from: Bugged Out Classics (Audio CD)
Not much wrong with this, but no Jeff Mills tracks? Some of my fondest memories of Bugged Out are to Jeff Mills tracks. Or Dave Clarke dropping Blue Monday at the end of the nobody knows night. Or DC outdoing Robertson by playing Flash louder and harder than he had just done... But the best was Mills holding a 303 aloft in the booth while the floor went ballistic.

So many memories, so many tunes, so much sweat.

Viva acid house!

Makes you want to chuck in work, leave your missus, buy a van and take the dog on the adventure of a lifetime. Pack light, just two boards and a wetsuit, towel and some wax. Soap optional.

Read this, then read the Rabbit Bartholemew Auto biog, "Bustin down the door".
There's stories about the same incidents in each that are written from their own point of views, it's interesting to cross reference them and you get a good insight into how friendship and respect becomes intense rivalry and near hatred!

MP was a genius. As with most genius', there's a tightrope to be walked, sadly he landed on the wrong side.

Brilliant book, and you'll like it even more if you read the Rabbit book too.

5.0 out of 5 stars the wizard., 15 Jun 2007
If you've experienced Mills Live, you'll understand his mixing isn't about perfectly matched beats. It's about energy, and creativity. If you've never had the pleasure of hearing him live. You might not get this.

It's brilliant, and takes me back to some great nights at bugged out every time i hear it.

3.0 out of 5 stars ok, but not quite the same., 27 May 2006
I looked and laughed at this when I saw it. If you've been there, you'd know, the thing was, any track on any night could have been a classic. There's a few on here that were played every night, but a lot of these tracks are just club classics. But I saw it was mixed by hooky, so bought it. It's brought back a few memories, not all from the hac, also from quadrant park, shelleys etc. But there's a couple on here that take me back to swaying under the balcony on a friday night. not quite eclectic enough for a true representation of the hac. Mixing isn't great, but it never was, I've heard Pickering mix tracks and it sounded like he was falling down the stairs at the back of the booth, but when the music was that good, it never mattered.

If you've been there, you'll enjoy it, if you never experienced it, you may love it.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed, 19 Mar 2006
This review is from: Lullaby (Audio CD)
Was expecting this to be very nice listening, being a fan of zero 7, but it sounds like it's been done in Sophie Barkers bedroom with a cheap keyboard. about 5 or 6 of the lullbays are just spoken, no music, and at only 35 minutes long, it's not worth the money. My girlfriend loves it, and i guess thats who it's aimed at. But i found it totally unimagintive and my little girl much prefers Jack Johnson's Curious George or her Tweenies cd. It's naff, but if you're the type of parent who sees your bugaboo pram as a status symbol, you'll look the coolest mum in town with this on your 4x4 dashboard.
